Koken Wheel Nut Sockets Set #14201M. (Sells for $123 at Koken-USA). 3 sizes: 17, 19, 21mm. Sixteen sets available, ships from, and sold by, Amazon-Japan. Free shipping.

I'm not sure if this Amazon link will work. If it takes you to a page selling the set for $52.06, try doing a search on the Amazon-US website. Make sure you are logged in to your account, and do a search in the "All" category for "Koken tools" or for "Koken Wheel Nut Sockets Set". On the left side of the search results page select the checkbox for "International Shipping Eligible".

Nice price! I'm gonna add it to my cart and see what happens. The cheapskate in me really wants to pay that price from Oct 7th instead.

Who knows?
Thanks OP.

That’s one of the items I wanted to buy during Koken’s Black Friday sale, but opted for other items instead of buying everything. This will be a pretty good score at this price.

Just a heads up, I took advantage of this deal and my 21mm socket didn't last but a few days. I emailed koken USA only to be denied warranty 12 days later because the item came from Amazon Japan. Chances are they'll deny warranty on these purchases.

Admittedly was using it on some f350 wheels on the new Milwaukee 1/2" high torque but I thought it would hold up. Realized immediately I had the wrong socket for the job but my box was all the way across the shop and laziness took over. It surprisingly made it through that job and popped on the next one, so who knows. Either way I didn't expect to be hassled when trying to warranty it. After speaking with Amazon and Koken, I think I'm just gunna return them and reorder thru Zoro.com since they'll honor the warranty if purchased there and I have a coupon.

I think we're so used to chrome in the United States I would have guessed those were impact rated at a distance.

I did order these and then changed my mind and cancelled. Thinking I made the right move. Decided to stick with my tried and true Ken-Tool. They are a US company with a long history, but their protect sockets are made in Taiwan (and nice quality). Haven't broken one yet. Not sure they are as thin as the Koken, but they have always worked for me. They relabel a bunch of tools for the tool trucks as Blue Point, Matco, etc. I bought mine through Zoro with a coupon.

Most companies won't warranty thin-wall sockets, including Ken-Tool, but maybe if you buy them off the truck? I'm not worried since I have yet to break one and replacements can be had cheap anyway.

Here is a lengthy 2022 thread about the warranty process for these thin wall Koken impact sockets, in which the OP broke the 21mm socket after only 3 month of of commercial use. The Amazon 3rd party Japanese vendor who sold him the set sent him a refund for a new 21mm socket. His 19mm thin socket lasted 1yr4mo in a commercial setting, and he purposely abused it as an experiment.

That’s disappointing to hear as I just received my set but have not used them yet.

I'm guessing they're probably okay if you use them in the range which they were probably designed for.

I don't think I've ever seen a Japanese vehicle exceed 100 ft-lbs outside of the Landcruiser. American vehicles tend to really torque those lug nuts on especially big trucks.

Not that I defend their marketing or anything... but I've run into a few Japanese vehicles (Infiniti mostly) where most lug nut sockets rub the wheel. This seems like a good use case for a product like this. I get the feeling that they're really not intended for day-to-day work and more for infrequent usage.

Wow. That’s surprising. I’ve used mine a lot, granted in a home setting, and other than a few scuffs on the protective sleeve, it’s still fairly new looking.

I just realized these aren't sold by Amazon but a 3rd party seller. Any thought they might be seconds?

Unless you purchase from the Used option, they are or should be new. There very well may be more 3rd party sellers on Amazon than actually sold by Amazon. It's hard to tell anymore.

I guess my concern about seconds is like factory seconds... never quite know anymore.

Ko-ken USA only warrants products purchased through the North American marketplace by customers who were residing in North America at the time of purchase.

Note that if you purchased your Ko-ken product oversees then you have to reach out to the original vendor for warranty. Ko-ken USA is only liable for its distribution of Ko-ken Tools within North America.
