I have a bunch of these and am trying to figure out if I should keep some, none, or all. Sait Masonry type 27 and they are 9". I saw them on ebay, and they are not selling for much. I figure I will put them with a bunch of auction items if I do not keep them.

OK, so everyone is taking my question way too literal. I know they are for masonry, but what situation would call for a 9" masonry grinding wheel?

For the peanut gallery, I am sure they are used for masonry grinding.

Knocking off old mortar off used bricks, grinding old mortar from between bricks before re-pointing, smoothing slag lines off pieces that chipping it off might cause visible damage. notching or trimming a piece so it fits better....

I much prefer the power of a large 9" grinder when I have space for it. The material removal rate is just so much better. I would rather use diamond cutting tools on concrete, but if you have them, why not use them? I imagine they would make just as much, if not more of a mess than the diamond wheels. I have a helper hold the shop-vac near the grinding wheel to catch as much of the dust as possible. Definetly wear a respirator, eye and hearing protection.

I am most likely going to keep a couple and send the rest to the auction. Unless someone on here needs some, then I would set up a classified ad.
