I am still missing about 17 5/16" bits, but here is the stuff top notch as usually and the bit holder are 1/2 and 3/8=1/4 holders and the other is a 3/8=5/16 as the 1/2=5/16 was out of stock... Nice bits as well t50,t55 and 1/4,5/16 all 5/16 in size. Nice finish as usual. A nice totally silent ratchet screw driver and a set of power bits, nice and top notch. This makes about 1500 in the past 2.5 months or so of wera from chads and as usuall I got the 15% off most of the stuff, which helped to buy more tools.

Looks like you could use some new cobra's, the newer large opening ones are pretty awesome.

I have some of those Wera pieces; they are top notch bits. Although, the best bits I have ever used are the Snap-on bits that come with the ratcheting driver. The SO phillips bit grips better than any bit or screwdriver I have ever used and that includes, Wera, Witte, Klein, Craftsman, old Snap-on and new Snap-on. For some reason the new Snap-on phillips screwdriver doesn't grip as well as the Snap-on phillips bits. The Klein fit the screws very well but they are literally destroyed on the first cam-out. They should be ashamed to put out **** screwdrivers like that - although the Klein diagonal cutters, and needlenose are the best I have ever used, better even than Snap-on and Knipex. Quite surprising to me anyway.

I think wera bits are just as good as the apex, I have had for 10+years and my father gave them to me from the 60's they are great. I also like the snap on bits I have (even though we know they don't make them). I like the finish on the wera, and I don't think they would rust either, but that is not a problem in AZ. Also no matter how hard I pulled I could never get the 5/16 bits to slip in the wera holders, they are top notch and the best I have ever used. The smaller ones in the kits are magnetic and also when you pull the collar can put used as a lock like the other holders, or just magnetic only for people who change them out a lot and need the speed.

I think it is fixed, but I can check it again. Also I think it feels gearless or at least I can't feel anything or hear anything when I turn the shaft.

Here is the rest of my order, now that it is complete... and chad through in the bottle opener and a free pair of knipex snap ring pliers.... Bit holders 1/2- 5/16 and 1/4 bits. 3/8-5/16 and 1/4 bits and the 2 zyklops holders 1/4 bits in 3/8 and 1/4 drive sizes. Torx bits 25-55, 4 sae hex bits and 6 Metric hex sizes all 5/16 bit size.

They call it hexplus, its really really awesome. I have not tried PB Swiss, but have tried dozens of others and WERA hexplus is my favorite.

Does the HexPlus work on regular Hex fasteners or there actually a HexPlus fastener that HexPlus is designed to work on.

Same question for TorxPlus. Are there TorxPlus fasteners that require TorxPlus bits?

Are the TorxPlus bits "downwardly" compatible with such fasteners if they exist?

I didn't get the torx plus from them, but they are different for sure. As for the hex they should just work fine. I did get a set of bits with the zyklops sets I bought, but wanted the 5/16 bits for more strength. The hex plus have the same size on them, but torx plus are listed as tp-15 which is not the same a t-15, and if you see pictures of the heads they are not the same. Also I like to have 2 sets of almost everything so if I break a tool I have a spare.

How does one identify a torx plus fastener?

I am assuming that a torx plus bit will not fit in a regular torx fastener, or if it will, it will damage it. Is this also correct?

The bottom line is that they are different and that the tools are not interchangeable between them. Right?

Thank you. What is confusing is that there is a Torx plus, which is a separate fastener. The flank drive example is very appropros.

Gm seat rails use a external TP-18 to unbolt from the floor or at least on 99 and up silverados.

That's really ironic because my GM car which had a bad seat motor and I was going to have to fix by pulling the seat was totalled out yesterday.

WHen you said "external TP" is the "external" in reference to the fastener? In other words the head of the fastener is the "bit".

If so, I had no idea external TorxPlus existed. I have the SO E torx sockets for use on a Benz or similar but have never heard of an E Torx Plus.

Is this some specialty tool and fastener?

That was great Monte! It's really flank drive for Hex (also with a wider contact area). I do have some Wera Hex Plus metric that came in a bit cheque. I'll be sure to use it first now! Those hex are prone to getting buggered up.

That was helpful. Interestingly, some say Torx and TorxPlus interchange but I think that is wrong. The SO website says they don't, although they are hardly unbiased.

I learned that TorxPlus and TorxPlus security don't interchange (different number of lobes) and that there exists this odd ball GM External Torx Plus fastener, for which SO makes a special one off tool. Weird.

right, torx and torxplus do not(at least you shouldn't try to) interchange. Torxplus security is a 5 lobe, several manufacturers are licensed to manufactuer it from the patent holder, Textron. A few years ago the IPR(5 lobe) was a highly controlled item. Average Joe could not get one easily, I had to jump through all kinds of hoops to get a set of bits. Now its no big deal.
