I had a truck with that same amount of body damage. actually ALOT of that damage looks the same? Is that my old truck!!!


No, mine had the cab mounts replaced with 1/4" plate steel.

no really they did that.

Great work. Keep posting progress, I love following this thread. Can't wait to see the final product. I have learned a lot so far. Motivation for me to learn some body work.

Just realized I didn't show some of the "after" pics of the work started on the previous page. Below is the interior with the floors and door jambs replaced, as well as the rear cab corners.

this one has to be looked at with another from the same vantage point (most everything here is missing in previous photo's)

Well, if you can repair copters, you can learn to shape and weld metal!! After shaping a few hundred pieces you'll have it down to a science!

I have 2 of them

I have a complete 66 that looks like yours, but runs so smooth you can put a glass of water on the hood and it will not ripple. (SBF that burns a quart of oil per hour). The floors are shot, it has no brakes, but the glass and trim and bright work is immaculate. All electrical works. I am also using it as a re-assembly manual for putting my good one back together I bought it as my parts truck for a 66 I am doing a frame off on. I have the front clip off, but need time to really strip her down. The good new (the truck I am building), is that without exaggeration I can tell you that it is rust free.

I am keeping her stock (352-3 on the column).

You have a great truck. Parts are a snap compared to a 69 Marauder.

OK boys, this is my last entry for this as I'm DONE! Owner picked up the truck yesterday and loved it. He's gonna put in a bed liner, do mechanical and interior work, then have it painted. Thanks all for looking and the kind comments!

Most everything you see here was replaced...

All fits too!

Tailgate has new metal in both bottom corners - as do the lower box corners...

Owner on his way - runs again, safe, solid.

Why thank you sir - and thanks for pulling up an "oldie"! I still see the truck around....he. Was supposed to have it painted, but ne'er did. At least it.s not sagging on its cab mounts anymore!
