Got this as a spare part with a Myford 7 lathe I picked up several years ago.
It's definitely not for the Myford 7; Can anybody help me ID it? I'd like to make it go away, but "For Sale: Random lathe cross-slide" probably won't do well!

I think that is an add on cross slide for a wood lathe so you can do light metal work on it.

With those ball-cranks its +/- 100 yo if it was part of a metal turning lathe.

But as you can see it has none of the provisions for Vee and Flat ways and missing the power feed/leadscrew parts that would be part of a thread-cutting machine.

One of the first advances I see is that the graduated dials got really large in diameter and read in "diameter" instead of reading in "radius".

I was going to say a Sheldon lathe but the underneath is not even close.

That casting does not look very robust nor typical of a metal lathe cross-slide (that I'm aware of).
