Yes, the ones im looking at are grounded. Its the birina lights from Amazon that tons of people use.Do the LED tube lights have a ground?
Why not just swap the light socket for a receptacle?

Honestly im looking for a quick fix, and also, I usually mess everything I touch up![]()
My garage lighting is terrible. Would there be anything wrong with running maybe an 8 foot run of led tube lights off of one od those light socket plugs? Photo for reference.
OPs fixture is 3-wire so…All my shop lights are two wire, should work fine.![]()
We don't know.Is the circuit not switched already?
I have not seen these before. Looking into it, the outlet is hot all the time (not switched) via the pull chain.
I've never seen a garage without a light switch on the wall or a plug in shop light that didn't have a pullchain or thumb switch. We don't know.
If the lighting circuit is currently switched, then the existing wall switch will also enable power to the outlet and the pull chain function would be set to the on position and the chain not used. This would then turn his plug in lights on/off via the existing switch.
I may have to do this same Project in my basement to upgrade a couple of lights.
