Looking for a solution that I am overlooking.

I have a Rapidair Maxline 3/4" kit that I will be using to install three drops in my garage. Each drop will have a Legacy Flexzilla 30' 3/8" enclosed hose reel attached to it. Here comes the problem. There is already an exposed section of hose to connect but it does not have a swivel so the hose just twists up.

Solution one is to put quick disconnect fittings at each drop so twisting is not at issue at a cost of about $20 per drop. I am using all Legacy\Flexzilla high flow connectors as well.

Solution two is to have the Mrs thread in the hose to the block as I rotate the hose reel to keep it from twisting.

Is there another option I am missing? Perhaps more than free like option #2 but less than $20 per drop on option #1?

Thanks!

Get the appropriate size hydraulic swivel pipe fittings. TSC should have them for a few bucks each.

Brass pipe union on the hose or the drop.

Second on a hydraulic swivel.

You also need a ball valve inline to shut the drop off when the real breaks. FYI, I've found some of the Flexilla reals have almost 30psi of pressure drop thru them.

Why a swivel for a connection that does not need to move once it's installed? I'd expect to see some flow reduction through a swivel as well compared to a union.

I think I misunderstood. Do I have this correct- The leader hose is connected to the reel with a swivel, but the male pipe thread end of the leader that goes to the supply line does not?

I am not sure how it works internally, sorry.

I may just thread them directly into the block. It's not that many threads, the reels are light and it ristricting the chance of limiting airflow.

Just odd they do not come with a swivel already like their whip hoses do. OWell.

Thanks all.
