These came with a wrench I snagged on ebay recently. I already have the Snapon one, and don't need the BluePoint, but it is a cool looking wrench. I haven't had any with that logo before. Ill probably end up selling them but I figured I should share my finds first.

That's an interesting bluepoint wrench. The date stamp looks like a 27, but style looks later?

There is Blue Point and Blue Points. The Blue Points were 20s, The "s" was dropped, and then Blue Point was dropped and Snap on was stamped on.

Here is the KRA-229 I found the other day. It got a bit "roach-y" over the years. I hate the person who invented masking tape by the way. It was probably decades old and had a kung-fu grip on the box. I will probably end up sanding it down to bare metal and repaint it one day. I'm keeping this little gem!

Is the Blue Point ST a tappet wrench and the Snap-On a regular open end?

I have fond that if you soak the masking tape with WD40, keep wetting as long as it takes, it will eventually soften it.

Yes, a Blue Point Supreme tappet wrench. It is longer and thinner than the equivalent standard double open end wrench of the same style/era. Date code looks like 1927 to my eyes too.

I have these similar looking snap on wrenches but no date codes. They run from 1/2 up to 1 1/8

Yeah, that’s what I’m seeing - the prefixed hyphen and straight vertical of the “7” makes me think 1927. 1937 would have a straight horizontal/curved vertical “7”.
With respect to snapmom’s comment, I thought Blue Points was an early variant with Blue Point, not exclusive relacement?

As far as DOE's, exclusive. The Boxockets were Blue Point. Also, some wrenches were Snap on, like the 25xx series. Combinations came in the early 30s and were blue point.

correction. Points would date to about 31, after that were blue point

With the generous help of a WW2 tool collecting colleague in the U.K. I was able to add the missing crossbars to my Snap-on 1/4" and 9/32" midget sets. He joked that these tools have been back and forth across the Atlantic many times. They were re-packed in 1951 but the flex handles are dated 1945. Here are some pictures. The Plomb WF crossbars are indistinguishable from the Snap-on. Thanks to Alton for the extra 9/32" tools!

Here are a few things from a tool lot I bought off a retired fellow who was selling off his uncle's old tools. Some of them were inscribed with "TCA" which was Trans Canada Airlines, later renamed Air Canada in 1965. There's a bunch of whitworth stuff in here as well I'll post later.

From about 1928-31. This was in a 9./32 dr set from that era.

Mostly to your benefit snapmom, I don't collect Snap-on. However, If I found the box in that pic it'd be hard to pry from my fingers! :3gears:
