I like to keep my tools organized & put back in the same spot after using them. But first they're cleaned & wiped off.

And I thought I had an organized tool box! OK, so I have a fetish for eagles. I even 'enlisted' and then volunteered for the 101st ABN- ('68-71') so I could wear an 'eagle' patch. This photo  is on the inside of my tool box lid. I haven't even taken off the protectiver cover yet.

ToolCrazy,
Where did you get those red wrench organizers from? I like 'em.

The wrench holders are from Snap-on, but I think I remember seeing them in a Mac tools catalogue as well. They come in pairs of 24 inches and can be cut down to fit your specific needs and they have double sided tape on the bottom. In one of my drawers you'll notice I have small and large wrenches in both metric and standard. The wrench holders come in two sizes for those purposes. The small size part number is KRA15 and the large size number is KRA22 from Snap-on. They're relatively inexpensive at about $15 for the small and about $16 for the large sizes. BTW, thats in Canadian funds.

God, you have way too many ratchets. I have two long Snap on ratchets, with the wobble head that I use for everything. If they won't fit, then I have my normal sized one, or my 1/4 set. I don't think I have every had a situation where I couldn't get one of the 3 to work. Between that and the crows feet and wrenches.

I worked at a couple different shops now. Yeah, I have gone f@#$! a few times when I left a ratchet under the hood then put the car up in the air. I only have one of all my sockets though, so that is usually the issue, not the ratchet. I.E. 13 deep in 3/8 drive.

I only have one air ratchet and one 3/8 gun, so I am used to pulling sockets off and changing all the time. Plus there is only one air hose.

Toolcrazy and Michvee, I thought I was annal about my tools until I saw yours. I noticed that you guys are located in Canada, like myself, whereabouts are you guys. Can you guys show some more of your tools so I can get more ideas on organizing mine again? I will post some pics later when I'm done if I can figure out how. Toolcrazy, how do you arrange the ratchets so they stay that way when you open and close the drawers? Oh, and toolcrazy, you can never have enough tools. Thanks, guys.

Swift, the drawers on the snap on boxes are really really really smooth when rolling. So just don't rip em open, or slam em shut, and everything usually stays in place, as long as it is on some sort of material, and not right on the metal.

That way i just grab the size I need at the moment I need it without having to switch sockets and extensions.

That's a good policy. It's tremendously annoying to constantly be switching sockets out, especially when your hands are greasy, and one slips out of your fingers and rolls out of reach when you're under a car. i'm the same way with certain tools... i've got three tape measures, a bunch of shop knives, and a few other cheap items that are never where i need them.

However, i've got to ask... i see you have a pretty good variety of socket wrenches there... which brand is your favorite? And what are those little stands that you have the extensions sitting in?

...dave

PS- can you believe that my wife laughed at me for buying a duplicate set of combination wrenches, when i told her that sometimes you need one for each hand? :wtf: She declined to spend a weekend out in the garage helping me so i could prove it.

You will have to stop by to see mine, there is 67,458 square inches of storage it is 108" long, 30" deep and 46" high. Luke has seen it before. It is a little bitty thing. When I moved it to my new place, I had to hire a rollback tow truck, and that struggled a bit. It is close to 15,000 lbs as it sits now. :wtf:

Greg isn't kidding. I am assuming he hasn't put up pics yet because he needs a camera with a panoramic view to get the whole box in the picture.

The damn thing is so big it has inflatable tires. :eyecrazy:

Wow!! Nice Snap-on box. Is the Snap-on scanner on top of the box, similar to the MT2500 scanner from Snappy? And do you use the MT2500? If so, what do you think of it? Or what do others at your work think about it. I'm thinking about buying a used one from a friend of a friend. Oh, and I almost forgot, please post some pix of the inside of your toolbox soon, I'm getting tool withdraw and I need a fix fast.

The MT2500 is basically old technology. If you only need something to read codes and reset lights then it is fine, however I have a MODIS which is far more advanced with many more features. I have used the MT2500 in the past and it was good. I also have a DRBIII which is Chryslers version of the scanner.

Well, Most of the sockets I have are SK, although I do own a 96 peice craftsman set. I have mostly all craftsman wrenches, but I do have quite a few Sk, a couple of snap on(which I hate to use) old ones like Billings, thorsen, idnestro and mckaig hatch for all you tool historians out there. 99% of my hand tools are USA made, it doesnt pay to buy cheap tools, because you will pay in the long run. I seem to have a fetish with half inch stuff(check out the picture)

There are 31 tools for driving a 1/2 bolt, I have 2 more craftsman wrenches and another craftsman socket in that box. I also have another 1/2 bonney wrench hanging up in the garage. bringing the total to 35. I also have a half inch allen wrench if that counts.

reading the sockets from left to right....

A freind of mine also aquried his dads MAC tool box, and while I hate stanley as a company, MAC tools are some good quality. I will be buying a set of impact swivels, and maybe a few more other items as well from him. Who knows what Ill bring home.

If anybody can rival me, we should seek some help together

Yes it is. I worked at a high end body shop it was the last of the full enamel and metal emblems.I think it came off a 840?? I'm not sure. I had to fight the bodyman for it.

I love my wife but if Leanne Tweeden called I would be hard pressed not to go and see what she wanted.

I'll take Pictures of the tools inside. Almost 100% Craftsman.

100_2502.jpg

My dad's tool box is the middle one. It's strange how now I'm the one getting mad about my tools not ever being where I left them. I guess that's the price of living in an apartment without a place to work on my stuff.

*I only have the Jeff Gordon welding helmet because it was on sale for only $125 and I needed a nice autodark, repainting is in process hahaha*

Here is my Lista tool boxes. Man I love these things. I just wish I had a real wide drawer so I could keep all the sockets, wrenches and ratchets in one.

My tools mostly consist of Craftsman. I have a few Snap-on & Mac but not much.
It all started with Sear Gift certificates every year since 97-2001

I love my MAC ratchets.

Other garage items are fold up engine hoist, 3Ton floor jack, 4 stands, and a cardboard creeper
And back in Vegas I have a 220V 6.5HP 60gal compressor and a assortment of air tools.

BTW Thanks to who ever host this site I love it.
