HVAC contractor. i push pencils for a living. these are for working on old harleys & hot rods. also, i drag raced for 7 years & needed lots of tools & shop equipment (bridgeport, lathe, brake, shear, mig, tig, etc.) to compete at that level.

another snap on box

sold 6 of my smaller snap on boxes & bought another kr1000ae & kr1200ae off ebay. this should hold most of the tools now, well at least for a while anyway!

I need to get a digital camera for home by here are a couple from where I work. The yellow Snap-on is one of the smaller boxes at work. I wish I could afford just it.
The blue ones are my domain at work and a quick shot of the shop.

I can't compete with the monster boxes some of you guys have, but felt constrained to add mine to the list:

A couple of comments:

* I have about 90% Snap-On -- all but a few items were purchased off of eBay. My "starter set" was purchased off a S-O truck a friend of mine owned.

* After taking these photos, I went back to the garage and cleaned each drawer, liner and all tools -- how **** is THAT?!!?

* I had forgotten but I had the HF plastic tray organizer. I found it to be less than a good use of space so I cut it apart and uses various sections of it (see in particular photo #4 of the wrenches).

Thanx for a great site

Craig

I don't have any picture of the tools but this is my box, I've either had too small of boxes or too many tools, Mine isn't as organized as most but not bad either.
I've got a bigger Snap-on box at work that is provided for me along with tools. It's kind of like mechanics heaven, someone else buy's the tools

Here's my MAC Tool chest & roller cabinet that I've brought about 25 years ago. The smaller tool chest next to MAC Tools cabinets is for my overflow tools. I'm looking at buying a larger unit because my drawers are at capacity and it's awkward trying to find the tool underneath as you can see at the pictures below. Cheers

Here's a few more that I've missed in the earlier post. Cheers

Craig, is that a KR-655?

It sure looks familiar. I had two like that, and with that great work surface on top, I never wanted for a top box.

I would just roll it up to whatever the next job was and be glad I had a portable workbench....

Dontcha love those Facom screwdrivers???? They're nice (I love my set), but the Facom pliers are by far my favorite. Try em.... you'll like em!

I am pretty sure is it a KR-657 -- but don't ask me to explain what would be different between the two. "Had" two? Why did you get rid of them? I assume your tools out-grew the dimensions of the boxes-- Craig

I do like the Facom. Even better than the Snap-ons. I had a set of 6 Snap-On screwsrivers -- virtually unused. I gave it to a friend/mechanic who helped me R/R the engine in my V-12 XK-E. Most of my pliers are facom, I just don't have the extensive sollection that you do :willy_nil . -- Craig

They both looked the same, but one was ball-bearing and one wasn't. Maybe that's the difference between the 655 and the 657. I brought them home when I left the automotive business several years ago. I was storing them (full of tools) in one of those $199 metal sheds like you buy at Sears. The shed leaked badly, and the boxes were getting ruined from the rain. Nothing gets your attention quite like opening a drawer containing $1000 worth of wrenches, and it is full of rusty water.

I sold them because I had nowhere else to store them. I was in need of the cash, too, since I was experimenting with being unemployed....I mean self-empoyed...LOL

I'm still cleaning rust off my tools as well...
