There are a lot of threads of garages being built, so lets see some of the garage art, collections and cool decorations. I'll post some of mine this weekend after I get a chance to get some current shots.

Thanks much for the compliment - sincerely appreciated. The Sinclair HC is an original neon "rotator" clock and runs great. I have never seen another one. :)

moto, where did you get all those globes, are they originals or reproductions, nice collection

Almost all of the globes that I own are originals. I think that I have three reproduction globes (two of which are in the posted photos directly under the Kendall sign in the corner) that I am working on selling. The globes were obtained from a multitude or sources, garage sales, general auctions, estate sales, antique dealers, E-Bay, two gas globe dealers and one was a gift from a relative IIRC. Thanks for the compliment and happy that you enjoy the pics.

No addams family? No mideval madness?

All of the pinballs and games fit a general "theme" of cars, bikes or 50's-60's pop culture. The lineup consists of:

Creature From The Black Lagoon
Twilight Zone
Diner
Car Hop
Elvis
Harley Davidson
Corvette
Viper Night Drivin'
Indy 500
High Speed II, The Getaway
Mario Andretti
Slugfest (pitch & bat baseball)
Junkyard (crane game)
Bally Challenger big-ball bowler from 1955
2 Cruisn' USA driving games linked together

The slot machines are: Betty Boop, Elvis, Twist, Hot Rod Queen & 50's Cafe.

My brother and I have been collecting valve covers for the past 20+ years. They get blasted and painted the correct color of paint and decals applied if available.
We try to get ones that are embossed with something that identifies the motor/car or just are cool.

Thanks for posting up the guages - very impressive collection and my guess is that they are all brass bodies. How were you able to salvage the guages before the ships were scrapped? Which I presume was their final disposition.

Would be fibbing it I tried to lay claim to these. Previous homeowner worked in ship maintenance and assembled that display "from garbage". It really caught my eye and fit in with something I did in a previous life. Last REAL job I had, we rep-ed Marshalltown Gauge, among other manufacturers.

On the final walk around after committing to purchase his house........the PO let them stay as is, for $25.

Hey, thanks for letting us know the story behind the marine gauges - beautiful collection in my opinion and very unique. Interesting story and sounds like $25 was a heck of a deal!!

:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Not sure what you are looking for exactly, but the spiral staircase was custom- built for my space and it is powder-coated in Viper red. All of the connections are welded and the handrail is all steel and is also welded to the spindles.

Beware of cheapo units on the market - this staircase was fabricated in Pennsylvania and shipped via flatbed to my garage during construction. Cannot say enough good things about the fabricator - Erie Spiral Stair Products, Inc.

Here are the photos, but let me know if you are looking for some specific info and I will try and help.

Dave,

Thanks so much. I would love to try and fabricate one of those to get up into my upstairs storage room. I love the paint and attention to detail!

Cheers and thanks again!

Heres my somewhat eclectic collection of old tat, a few of the signs are repros but they are high quality proper enamel . Quite a lot is French as I have a holiday home in France, some British and a few American pieces. It's still fairly easy to find this stuff over in France at reasonable prices whereas in the UK there seems to be more collectors so prices are much higher. There also an old chrome Marchal 630 fog light somewhere (made somewhere between 1935 and 1955) Hell, even the shelf units are pretty vintage!

1930's Essolene Petrol enamel sign

French "!Piles Wonder" (battery company) enamel sign, my Texaco clock I got for christmas (modern repro) and my old shell anti-freeze testing station

Vintage warning triangle, old Bib brand (made by Michelin) oil can and my grandads old spray gun complete with kilner jar on the botton, I have the electric air pump for this and its dated 1947!

This certainly doesn't compare to some of the others here. It's just a photo I happened to have on my phone. It doesn't show any of my signs or license plates, just mostly my oil cans, but it's all I had handy
