My craftsman block grinder hoard updated picture.
One 1HP 8" flat top, and the rest are all 1/2hp commercial 7". All have craftsman stands. Then there is one parts grinder on the bottom left of the shelf which I've been parting out. I was cleaning and realized I have a bunch of extra 6" side guards too.
The 1HP will be getting a belt/disc sander attachment eventually.

Bagged: your block grinders seem to be multiplying quickly. i think you said you had a buyer for that Parker, but if i were you i'd keep that unless you need to cash to replenish your picking funds. you did an amazing job restoring those jaws and the vise is pristine anyway. keep it unless you get a I DON'T WANT TO SELL IT PRICE or a trade for something you like better.

just curious how you decided to use the nice metal organizer under your shelving? did you just start filling up the 33 drawers or do tell because i have several of those organizers and a lot of stuff that needs to be organized.

Drives:
I just shipped a block so I'm trying to thin the herd. I'm trying to decide which 1 round top to sell. I like the gold label ones but I might sell one of them so I have a nice assortment of different era blocks. I also have to sell one stand too.

I had a buyer for that Parker that backed out an hour before he was supposed show up. It's listed for sale but only if I get enough for it.

I got that cabinet below by trading away a gold craftsman cabinet to a fellow GJ member. The cabinet is perfect. I have drawers for small vise parts, grinder parts, electrical, and a lot of hardware. I wish I had one more to nicely organize all my hardware. I just haven't been able to find a matching one for a good price yet. I have little organizer bins in many of the drawers. I'll snap a picture later.

Hi guys, see my comments in Blue.
Yup! On the off chance it would fit! ....
It will fit. I have both the large and small size quench trays, and they are interchangeable.

Yes I saw thought. It's a big boy
Sears Best! It's in good shape too.

From my shipping experiences UPS/FedEx is min 2/3 times his quote.
Yes, I agree. FedEx will want >$40 to pack and ship that flat rate. If the seller packs, I'd want it packed in 2 separate boxes, with the grinder bolted to a piece of plywood, the stones removed, all breakables removed (lamp shade, tool rests, spark arresters, ...

Picked-up this little guy and the tool rest today for $1.00; the Block had already been sold.

Absolutely. I was searching for the block and other parts like the time my wedding ring fell off in the weeds.
I hear you.

I went back today to get a collar yoke for a vise I picked up yesterday.

I was poking around on another side of the barn and I found a single metal framed eye shield.

Well, there I was again, looking around for the pony in that pile of manure!

Nope, just 1 eye shield -- $2.00 Sold!

Edit: Almost forgot, I found a binder with the owner's manuals in protective sleeves.

1/3-HP m-397.19580 and Pedestal Tool Stand No. 9-2964.

Didn't know you could put Charles Parker iron in your block grinder hoard pics. Here's mine. Also, if you stack your grinders sideways you can get a few more on the shelf.

Picked up this 1/2hp yesterday for $50. Took over 3 minutes for it to spin down when I tested it last night! Anyone know where to get some eye shields for it? Came with a quench tray too.

You can see my 68 round top in the back in one of these pictures. One will be set up for grinding and wire wheeling and the other will be set up for polishing. Thanks guys!

Some of you may remember this post above from a few days go... I had big plans to set up my old 1/3hp roundtop grinder for polishing and that new-to-me 1/2hp for grinding and wire wheeling. Well, today, as luck would have it... I went and picked up another 1/2hp from the 70's (I think) but the industrial version with 8' wheels and longer quench tray. It's pretty clean minus a very subtle splatter paint job. I guess now they'll each have an individual purpose. Doesn't show it but it came with both plastic shields and a small box of wheels. $50 seemed more than fair. The actual picture here is from the seller. It cleaned up nicely with some Simple Green when I got it home. I'll post a picture soon. It's just missing one spark arrester. Also, it has a washer I can't seem to get off on the right side. Any ideas?

More likely a 7" machine. I think you need at least 3/4hp to get an 8" wheel.

You can get that washer off with a wheel puller. Looks like plenty of clearance.

Nice find. But it's probably a 7" with 1/2" arbor. Just throw some lubricant on the washer and then carefully pull it off.

One pic at a time I guess.

The pick of the litter.

Rotated it for you. My neck got tired.

At the risk of this question sounding stupid because this is GJ, do these vises and grinders get used? They're too clean.

Bob, impressive collection and nice looking garage!

Apline,
I use my grinders, at least the ones that have safe wheels. The Parker vise in my picture is one I am trying to sell, but I'm going to clean up user Parker into a similar fashion. Makes them look cool and last longer.

That's a v good price for that block.

The washer looks like the inner flange. It may be hanging up on a small burr on the arbor shaft.

I'd try running a piece of emory cloth on the arbor, between the flange and threads, then apply your favorite penetrating oil (Kroil, WD-40, ...), then try removing it.

Pull as close as you can near the arbor, ie: use a bearing splitter.

If you don't have a puller, try holding the flange (soft/padded jaws, pliers/vise grips), then gently rock it back and forth, while gently applying force to move the flange off the arbor.

Simple Green is my 1st step go-to.

Good luck. Let us see how you make out.

PM me re: spark arrester.

Alpine, the three grinders on pedestals have been redone and are being used. All the others will be sold. Guess I'm a better buyer than a seller. Same thing will happen to all the vises but it'll be a much harder decision. I have uglier tools I could post pics of if there's intrest. Think of it as combing your hair on family picture day.

Thanks guys! You're right, it is a 7" model. I didn't realize they came in 7" so I just figured it was 8".

That washer spins pretty freely. It's not gummed up or anything. Seems that maybe it's been spinning freely for a while and maybe built up a tiny ridge that now it can't work its way over. I'll try putting a little oil on it an see if I can work it off and report back.
