I see a lot of dogs, but not a lot of garage-related stuff.

I don't post much, but here I couldn't resist correcting this problem.

I'm submitting a picture of an excellent GSD raised on a steady diet of Porsche joy rides, cheap tools, and vintage race bike builds. That second pic of him asleep on the tools made it into a British motorcycle magazine a few years ago, covering the vintage races at the Bonneville GP outside SLC. Now he's a big dude. He's my buddy, and his name is Baldor. Named after the excellent industrial electric motor I found on my 30 year old Ingersoll-Rand compressor.

Beautiful Dogs. Are they Minatures or Standards ?

Sorry for the delay, HOTFR8, I missed that until I came back looking through... They are all Miniature Schnauzers, but our two (Zoe and Cappy) really are pushing into the smaller side of the size range for a standard, at 20-25#. Maggie (our foster), is really more typical of the Miniature breed.

Here's a picture I didn't know my wife had taken. I had just hit my head on something and cursed, and our pointer was very eager to help (notice the tail-wag blur):

No, though Barber is on my list for future events. Vintage bikes or cars, I'm game for both. Speaking of cars (and dogs), here's Baldor again guarding a pile of marine grade wire I had ready for wiring up my little Eye-talian race car. Here's the thread for it's build, too, if anyone's curious:

Yep. Love him ta death

Cryo Gal,
I obviously don't know what the training sequence was and I can see he is in a vehicle, but was he not trained to attack the hand holding the weapon? We were taught to train the dog to attack the weapon and minimize the threat, otherwise the dog can be locked into it's target and beaten, shot, stabbed etc. by the arm actually holding the weapon. Is your training solely for personal protection?

He was started in protection but has since been switched over to sport. I loose points here and there tho because if they get too threatening with the stick, whip, whatever they have in their hand he will go for the weapon hand on his own. In the picwith the gun, the decoy approaches such that the protected arm is all the dog can get to since all he has on is a hidden sleeve, so the dog takes what he can get. The gun looks close to him but the decoy takes great care to keep his unprotected body away from those jaws. LOL Ideally in sport, the dog is conditioned to stay on the bite no matter what. That was a PSA trial www.psak9.org Now Ima go look for pics of your pooch :bounce:

Pearl. Unfortunately, she's not much of a (open) garage dog. She has a ton of energy and she likes to explore the neighborhood if she's not gated in.

Our house has been nicknamed "The zoo." We have 1300 square feet(including the garage) to fit 2 adults, 2 toddlers, 2 dogs and 2 cats.

My cat is about 6 now. I picked her up at a no kill shelter as a kitten and named her Enzo.

Since highschool I knew I was going to get a Bernese Mountain Dog. When we bought our house our friends happened to have a litter of new puppies, so I jumped on it and got Tess (short for Testarossa).

When she was a puppy:

30474_521417124342_60100097_30815613_6252246_n.jpg

More recently (shes almost 3 now)

20478_517462499442_60100097_30686986_2061236_n.jpg

Then my wife entered the "I need a baby" phase, so we got a new black kitten named Nyx. The little **** decided she was too good for the litter box and started peeing on everything. After ruining 2 purses in 2 days my wife kicked her outside.

Here you can see her hanging out on the second floor roof:

And about 3 months ago we adopted a 6 year old boxer from a friend. Her name is Chloe and she fell in love with our family right away.

The dogs are best friends now:

305810_547591101482_60100097_31187661_384672817_n.jpg

Growing up I only had one dog, so I think its pretty interesting to see the dynamics of 2 dogs in the house. I've seen each of them get bored, walk across the room to where the other is sleeping and pick a fight. Tess has always been bonded with my son and I, so when we got Chloe she quickly adapted and follows my daughter and wife around.

Tess just went to the vet and weighed in at 85lbs. I think Chloe weighs about 75lbs, each out weighing the 50lbs dog I grew up with. Needless to say its a challange to get in the door with them crowded around us.

Not my dog and not in a garage, but I thought you will not mind this digression.

In the midst of the devastation brought about by the recent floods in our Southern provinces, it is heartwarming to see photos such as this. There are many similar photos, taken here and also in the flooded sections of Thailand.

The cat weighs more (and is bigger) than the dog. All in all, we have 1 dog and 3 cats. They are:

Brutus (red min-pin)
Guiness (black male cat, adopted from a no-kill shelter)
Harley (black male cat, stray from outside)
Myki (short for "My kitty", female calico cat, sister of Harley, named for Mikey Teutul of American Chopper)

We also feed 3 strays:

Cosmo (black female cat, mother of Harley, Myki, Floyd, and Skidmore)
Floyd (female tabby, named before we realized she was female)
Skidmore (male tabby, brother of Floyd)

Both Floyd and Skidmore share the same mother as Harley and Myki, but they are from different litters. Cosmo disappears for months at a time, so we haven't been able to catch her to get her fixed.
