Holly and Arlo meeting their new Brother from another mother.

2023-06-19 08.50.47.JPG
As my brother-in-law and I say, "Brother from another mother of another color". In this case the other color is a different species.

Many years ago I brought an 8 week old Norwegian Elkhound puppy and a 6 week old kitten home on the same day. Tiny as they both were the puppy wanted to play and the kitten wanted to hiss and arch her back. They became "friends" and would play with each other. The kitten could run circles around the puppy but he enjoyed chasing her, over running her and sliding. She seemed amused by the whole thing and would take playful swipes at him as he passed. They never once hurt each other.

Holly is still a bit wary. She's not 100% sure what it is and why its here yet.

He looks a bit like a tiny version on my mums cat, Ralph who chased her when she first met.

Wait 'til holly gets whapped on the nose! :ROFLMAO:

Our "witten" ( 14+ lbs, almost a year old we think ) get given "what for" all the time by out 7 lb, 13 YO cat. She has a low tolerance for roughhousing...

New puppy Astrid is quite a bit smaller than Fozzie. Foz is a puppy at heart & loves to play like one.

The little dog is fearless when they play. She's got all 4 feet in the air going after him.

I'm frequently having to calm them down out of concern over the little dog pushing it too far & getting hurt.

Too many noises for him @Johnny chaos? Air compressor, grinders, saws used a lot? My boy will chill right here usually. If I even hook up an air line, he is gone to hidin' around back of the house. Between the fireworks that started last night around here, and the thunderstorms...he's been a nervous wreck last couple days. Ears pinned back, thunder in the distance.

Had the dogs groomed. They're clean right now but it doesn't last long. Max (age 5+/-) is making a weird face in this pic. He immediately rolled in blue chalk my granddaughters colored onto the patio. Then because that wasn't enough he also wiped himself against herbicide I'd just sprayed that has blue dye in it.

Fifi (age 2) is her usual beautiful self. She gets comments. People want to know what kind of dog she is? I say, "Eski-doodle". She was sold to me as a Labradoodle but has no Labrador in her at all. She's 28% poodle, 19% American Eskimo dog. The interesting part is she's supposedly 16% pit bull, 10% German Shepherd and some cocker spaniel too.

Holly is back to her old self again. Most of the swelling went down overnight with the last bit going by lunchtime today.
Here she is getting attacked by 10 week old Tigger. He was desparate for her to play this morning but she was still feeling a little under the weather.

Glad she is feeling better. Be careful. Tigger looks like a real killer. :sneaky:

The joys of being bitten by a horsefly or something.2023-07-02 22.56.15.JPG
Ahhhh, poor pup! Is there anything you can do for that? My black Lab, Dudley used to go for bees. THey'd sting him on the mouth and he'd get a ******** lip. He never got tired of going for them though. Silly dog. Miss him still after all these years.

First spring I had Baxter, and first time at camp, he got the zoomies in the field full of wildflowers. Next thing we knew he was trying to swallow like something was stuck. Long night knowing a vet was 4hrs away, but my vet advised if breathing was ok and he would drink wait it out. Perfectly fine the next day.

About a month later he got into a ground wasp nest, leg and rump swelled up. Suddenly the previous event made more sense.

5 years later I watched him chase bees around the clover. He's adorable, but an idiot sometimes.

Reminds me of this

She was taken to the emergency vet (at midnight on sunday) as it was still swelling up and given a shot of steroids, plus a course of antihistamine and corticosteroid tablets. £185 ($234) in total including the out of hours call out.

Years ago our old collie got stung by something she caught which caused her face to swell up double its size but it also made her tongue and throat to swell up too so she was struggling to breathe.

This morning dog watched me scoop poop from the porch. I think he finds it entertaining.

I managed to get the lawn mowed between showers, a little wetter then I'd like but it started raining again as I finished. Now the sun is sort of back out, here he is enjoying the fresh grass and small circle of Vitamin D that snuck through the clouds.
