What does he do when a dog goes by the house and he’s outside? My last cat that identified as a dog would go up to the fence to meet. The. She would run under the gate and sneak up behind the visiting dog.
He tends to walk along the wall kind of stalking them. Not many people walk past though as we're a bit out of the way.

Beautiful dog, brought a laugh and good memories to me this morning.

Reminds me of an all black shepherd we had, called him Cooper. Didn't look anything like your dog other than the cocked head, tennis ball in mouth, come play with me look in the eyes.

Thanks.
Thanks BEB, I have had many friends in my life - muts, great pyrenees, brittany spaniel, great dane, golden retriever x2, lapsa apso. I'll bet Cooper will always be a cherished member of your family. Duke has been my best buddy since the day I picked him up at the airport (bought him sight unseen from a breeder in another state). Needless to say, GSDs are my favorite breed (although don't tell my Golden and Pyrenees). By and large, humans don't deserve dogs. They are the best of us and it is a shame they are only with us for a short period.

Is he descended from Mary's Baby?
Hi kaymccampbell, sorry if I am being thick as a brick, but Mary's Baby? Only thing I can come up with is my Lord and savior. If that is the case, then yes, he is. Only the Lord could come up with something as beautiful as a dog as a gift to humans.

No, though you're probably right. Mary's Baby was my aunt's LCGS. He was huge, like 10 year old ride him like a pony huge. Gentlest thing on earth. Smart as a whip. Your boy is the spitting image of Baby. He stood stud for so many. And so many of his children became guide dogs n rescue dogs. I just wondered.

Thanks Dan In Pasadena. That is a fine looking lab in your avatar. lol, he is a big baby goof ball. His bark is ferocious, and he hears EVERYTHING. But he loves people....especially little kids. I often wonder how he would respond to an actual intruder/threat.
You're welcome. I'm sure if YOU were in potential danger or your family that he knows his goof ball-ness would leave and a whole alter ego would emerge and NOT a safe one.

My avatar was "Sooner" on of my lifetime best friends. He passed away back in 2014 and it absolutely broke my heart. He remains my avatar because I owe him so much.

He was a big baby to me and my girlfriend. We got him in Oklahoma when her sister lived there. She flew him to us as a 9 or 10 week old and that little guy didn't pee or poop on the flight. I picked him up, took him to a park and he peed a gallon. He never had a single accident as a puppy. He adored water of any kind, would "swim" in his shallow 5 gallon water bowl! I guess he bonded to us so early he was totally devoted to us and our protection. Labs are known for being laid back and he was unless he thought anyone meant us harm then he'd cross in front of us to "guard" us. If told him it was ok, he went back to being a floor mat. I hope he is there to greet us if we make it to Heaven, if not I'd prefer not to go if I merit it.

Our miniature Golden Retriever, Chase at the groomer in the first pic.... He looks like he's saying "Go ahead and have you fun. Take the picture and get this stupid thing off of me!!!" The second photo is his usual spot on the back of my recliner givin me love. The third is him just enjoying a ride with his nose in the wind. The fourth is him in action while on guard duty for our 65 Falcon Gasser. He's the best dog we ever had over many years!!! Always out in the shop with me. Loves to hear open headers and go for rides of any kind. I just wish God designed dogs to live longer!!!

Night lights are on.
@Zebedeewesty, we wanted our pug Ellie to pick out her condo. No surprise she chose the big one.

She wasn't crazy about it so we ended up using the even bigger one that was in the attic. We never closed the cage door on her but she liked to get away from the hustle and bustle at the end of the day.

Ok, ok, you can post your cat I suppose but hopefully your garage mascot isn't a bird, a ferret, a tarantula or a monkey. Ok, I guess a monkey WOULD be pretty cool.

Meet "Sooner" my 6 year old Yellow Lab. He's actually closer to white. He's unusually large for the breed...about 102 lbs and not really overweight. He's pure bred too, though I am no pure bred snob. Mutts are the best dogs in the world I think.

If I know and like you, Sooner is gentle as a lamb. If I DON'T know you...like the mail man, UPS guy, or a salesman? He's going to have a piece of you unless I tell him, "No"...then he's a door mat again.

Let's see your best friend (hopefully)
There's a chonky one that stops by my place. He was skittish until I busted out the biscuits, then he waddled over at a brisk pace.

Call him porckchop

My pups went to the groomer today. Having family over on Sunday so they've got to look their best. White dogs get gray looking from laying on concrete pool deck.

I'm crazy about these two: Fifi, the larger dog, and Max, the little terrorist - who follows me around 100%!

8hr truck R I D E with mine on Sunday, he's getting a bath tomorrow. And a mint. Definitely won't look that floofy though.
