Sorry for the photo album . With Emma passing last week I figured I’d share some family fun . It’s been extremely hard coming home and not having that wagging tail greet you.

Don't ever feel bad for posting a bunch of pictures of your dog.

The ones you showed above felt like an invite into your living room.

I'm sorry for your loss but sharing pics here (and other places) will ease the pain.

Totally agree. I started this thread all those years ago BECAUSE I love my furry friends and wanted a place for others (I hoped - since confirmed) to post pictures of theirs too.

I am terribly sorry for the passing of your clearly beloved girl, Emma. She was beautiful and still is in your memories of her. As a tribute to her I suggest you get another furry friend soon. PLEASE save another soul that truly NEEDS our care and comfort.

My little girl, Fifi who I just adore. Reminds me of Emma a bit.

I took Fifi and little Max to one of those DIY dog bath places today for the first time. It is a LOT cheaper and though they didn't "like" it, they weren't as upset as I thought they might be. No nail trimming, no haircut, not **** squeezing but they are clean and smell good because they had rolled around in the ton of ash in the yard from local wildfires.

My older sister lost her little dog a couple months ago. She is heartbroken of course but has been looking for a rescue. She specifically wanted a small, older female dog - no pups. She has stopped at every dog shelter several times without finding the kind of dog she's looking for.

Yesterday at a Dollar store she went to greet a little dog she saw with a woman. It turned out this lady is homeless but had encountered the little stray dog and didn't want it to be hit by a car so she bought it a collar and leash. She told my sister she couldn't keep it as she doesn't have money for herself let alone a pet. My sister told the woman she'd lost her dog and the lady asked her if she would foster this dog?

The dog is not as small as she'd wanted. She took it to the vet to be scanned - no luck. Vet gave it all its shots and said it's about 9 months old and very healthy! It's also a male! - which she specifically did NOT want and hasn't had in many years but it's captured her heart. The lady was going to put up signs in the area where she found the dog but unless lightning strikes I think my sister has a new pup. He's a little "Heinz 57 Varieties" mix and is cute. He seems to be housebroken, is very friendly and pretty calm she says. She decided to call him "Lovey" - the same name as our childhood dog. This little dog doesn't know it yet but has hit the lottery with my sister.....if she gets to keep him.

We’re camping over the weekend. Supposed to rain on our parade so I don’t know how fun it’ll be?

After dinner sitting around the campfire. I have my pups and one of my granddaughters (Indigo, 6. We call her Indie) in the loveseat sized camp chair with me. Doesn’t get a whole lot better than this! IMG_4250.jpeg

Awesome, just as it should be. Extremely comfortable for all parties!

My girlfriend is still in bed in the RV and one of the two pups is bedded down with her. The other was, but now is curled up at my feet in the "too little for her" dog bed. I already took them up to do their business and now they are down for another 8-10 hours of sleep, ha ha!

IMG_1752.jpegThis is "Lovey" my sister's new rescue from post 6327 and 6332. We went camping over the weekend. When they got home they put him in the house to unload their RV. Came in later and found him asleep ON TOP Of the dining room table! He'll get some etiquette training. The only thing my sister loves more than her dogs is probably her house being clean!

Dan, when I was too young to understand, I heard a joke: "Get off the table Mabel, the quarter's for the beer!"

My mind and memory fail me more often theses days but it may be it's so full of useless information it takes a while for the drowned memories to float to the top.

Bob, I can relate! I turn 70 on Monday - an age I thought I'd never reach because my dad died at 66. My memory is sometimes sketchy too. Kinda scary so I recently started taking Prevagen - which the internet advises is snake oil. But what the hell, it's worth trying vs. the possible alternative. The cost for a few months won't break me.

I've had this thought recently: Whether I live to 99 or if I drop dead of a massive heart attack tomorrow I feel certain that AS I AM FALLING TO THE FLOOR my thought will be, "Really? So soon? I expected to live a lot longer than this!"

Hang in there, Bob. I call some of the guys here on GJ, "Friends I've never met." You are one of those. I truly wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.

My best to you and yours, Dan

I have a stray cat that shows up every so often when I'm workin in the shop. Walks around, smells everything, finds a mouse & kills it, walks over for a few pets and then it goes back to work. It caught a little snake last summer, I don't know what kind it was, just seen it playing with it and it finally must've ate it because aside from blood I didn't see any other signs of it.

I've had lots of dogs and none of them lived longer than 12 years, and not a single one of them kept the critters down, other than chasing a ****, possum, or occasional skunk away-and the latter required a deep doggy bath afterwards. After the last dog died I decided I wasn't getting another one. A year or so later that old mangy cat shows up and I just let him do "cat stuff" while I'm working. Then in 2018 I got an indoor kitten (rescue) and frankly I like having a cat around better than I do a dog now. But I still love dogs, well most of them. There's a couple that run loose that could stand to come down with the 22 flu but I can't bring myself to do it. I've tried and just couldn't.

This was my Mal/X, Junior. We were together about 10 years. He was my life during that time. He had severe epilepsy, but working with a neuro, and docs, we were able to get half decent control after a few years. My Wife never really enjoyed his, "winning personality". When he was about 6, right in the middle of being a real peach, she bought him this collar for Xmas. Thankfully, she only bought one.
