She doesn’t make it out to the garage to much with the cold weather unless I have the wood stove going for awhile
I did work at a house where they had a hairless cat. Great cat. Very personable. And no itchy eyes when I pet him. I came home & told my wife (Who would have cats if it wasn't for me) that I thought we could get one of those. She was not impressed with that plan.

IMG_2992.jpegIMG_2994.pngYesterday I hooked the old Nintendo Wii up in the basement. We live in a stone home that’s been in the family since it was built in 1840, left to me by my grandfather who cared more about the cows then the house, bless his soul. Anyways, the stairs going to the basement are pretty steep. I had to carry Daisy up and down the stairs, lol.

My older sister lost her little dog a couple months ago. She is heartbroken of course but has been looking for a rescue. She specifically wanted a small, older female dog - no pups. She has stopped at every dog shelter several times without finding the kind of dog she's looking for.

Yesterday at a Dollar store she went to greet a little dog she saw with a woman. It turned out this lady is homeless but had encountered the little stray dog and didn't want it to be hit by a car so she bought it a collar and leash. She told my sister she couldn't keep it as she doesn't have money for herself let alone a pet. My sister told the woman she'd lost her dog and the lady asked her if she would foster this dog?

The dog is not as small as she'd wanted. She took it to the vet to be scanned - no luck. Vet gave it all its shots and said it's about 9 months old and very healthy! It's also a male! - which she specifically did NOT want and hasn't had in many years but it's captured her heart. The lady was going to put up signs in the area where she found the dog but unless lightning strikes I think my sister has a new pup. He's a little "Heinz 57 Varieties" mix and is cute. He seems to be housebroken, is very friendly and pretty calm she says. She decided to call him "Lovey" - the same name as our childhood dog. This little dog doesn't know it yet but has hit the lottery with my sister.....if she gets to keep him.

She and the pup are made for each other. Rescues especially ones that have wandered the streets are so appreciative to have a home.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that she gets to keep him.

Yes she's definitely keeping him. She's absolutely besotted with him even though she did NOT want a male, did NOT want a puppy and especially did NOT want a big dog! She'd had two small female senior dogs the last 10 years or so.
Glad he's got a home.
I was just with both my sisters today working on my older sister's "new" garage. But that's a subject for a different GJ thread. Of course, Lovey was there. He is a super affectionate dog. He hadn't seen me for awhile and seemed overjoyed! Of course I rubbed his belly and let him "kiss" my face while he madly wagged his tail. He reminds me of my now-long departed life time best friend, Sooner (avatar) who would chew EVERYthing when he was a pup. Lovey brushed against a shrub today and it moved so OF COURSE that meant it "wanted" to play with him so he chewed a chunk off. He's a sweet, sweet pup.

When the boy is first let out through the garage he has to run and do his rounds around the couple acre property. That way we know it's safe ;) Recent two to four foot drifts slow down his work. You can see it bothers him. When I get done with mine, and a neighbors driveway using the snowblower, I always blaze a trail around the perimeter of the yard so he can run easier and know he doing his job like he is supposed to do💗

Late December we had to say goodbye to Tootles - our almost 10 year old gordon setter. What a great dog - had 90% of his lower jaw removed a little over 2 years ago due to cancer and he never missed a beat - learned how to eat by himself and still able to grab that toy and take it out in the yard and bury it.. It's a big void when they go..

A few years ago - someone on this forum suggested watching a channel called Rainfall projects that featured a very talented young man building things, fixing things and moving thru life as a single adult to starting a family - his black lab "Drake" always at his side - tonight I happened to see his new episode where I learned that Drake had passed away - but the video is so good - he captures their time together while welding and constructing a unique piece of artwork to hang in his barn that he shared with his dog.. I think you'll enjoy it...
