This is my yellow lab, Lilly.
She's technically my first dog. (I shared a pre-existing black lab mix with my wife when I was married.)

My daughter and I adopted Lilly from another family through a nearby Humane Society. They were moving and couldn't keep her.

I stumbled on her via PetFinder and read that she needed heartworm treatment. I called right away to donate the necessary funds, but found out she was already in treatment. After that I decided to go forward with adoption screening.

We've had Lilly for a few years now and she's about the sweetest, most affectionate dog I've ever met. Funny thing, though. I was a bit concerned she would be useless as a protector. Boy, was I wrong!

We took her camping with us a couple of years ago. She dutifully hung around camp with us, but at dusk, she began staring down other campers walking by. At one point, she would freeze and growl if campers came within range. A stripe of hair stood straight up down her back. Once the other campers were outside Lilly's perimeter, it was back to the old, sweet Lilly.

She's a great shop dog and loves to just be in the same room with us, though she has a habit of nudging me for a scratching when I'm down low working near the floor.

Here's my two garage pups, Czech Shepherd, and a Harlequin Great Dane, Adalai and Titus. Titus is about 9 months old, already 34" at the shoulder and about 115lbs. This is them helping me build a new headboard for the master bedroom.

Our Yorkie named Bowie. He's not much on size, but he makes up for it with affection. He came out in the garage today to see what I was doing. I've always had big dogs (labs and retrievers), but the wife convinced me to agree to getting a Yorkie. He's turned out to be one of my favorite dogs.

The German Shepherd is Hurley and the Lab is Cora. Both are pretty mellow most of the time, but the lab is a major barker. Overall excellent dogs, not to mention good garage companions. The Shepherd also has the added benefit of providing the intimidation factor to those showing up at the house unannounced. His size and bark normally scare the **** out of most folks.

Your pup looks exactly like mine. I think my boy has slightly bigger ears though.

Small white spot on chest and white under his paws.

All my pics were on Facebook, and I've since deleted it....so my pics have all disappeared. whoops.

This is Rusty...taking care of business.

20130106_130552.jpg

Yeah, the mouse is long gone...in the litter box now.

He, along with his brother (Todd...wife named that one) were horse barn rescues...there's a third...Glenda (wife named her, too...after her girlfriend...long story!) who was as well but is a few years older than Rusty and Todd.

So, 3 cats...can I still keep my man card? LOL

We have two horses out back as well...

But I digress...so while I am in the midst of my garage reno (on-going), Rusty will climb to the top of my ladder while I am up sanding and patching the ceiling and sit there with me...craziest cat I have ever know...but a pretty darn good companion...I actually enjoy him quite a bit...love dogs, but this cat is cool!

Here are my two goofballs. Both were rescued from abusive homes. Sadie (Walker Hound) is two, Max our yellow lab is six - he is a big boy at 115 lbs, but is a complete ****.

Notice the dog bed on the floor...............

That is great--all that you and your friend do to help the young and elderly. I am sure they truly appreciate it. Thanks for sharing.

Spencer helped me build an old Camaro. I lost him a few years ago and still miss the little guy.
He would bring a ball into the shop and pester me until I threw it out the door. Then repeat over and over and over and over again. Whew!

Here's Pete, he's also known as Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater, he ate the wife's pumpkins she put on the porch. He's a rescue, great little dog, great watch dog. His left front axle is sorta out of wack, bent to the left, but he can run like the wind. He's in the kitchen bumming food, but one does not interrupt a yawn!!

Meet Gemma! She's a rescue puppy we got back in October, a mix of Husky, German Shepherd, and possibly something else. She's about 50lbs, and we're guessing she won't be much bigger, so there's got to be a smaller breed mixed in her somewhere.

She pretty much rules the house now...best puppy ever :D

Nice! Is that yours? Got any kind of build thread for it? I bought a '72 cb350f a month ago as a short term winter project. Just accumulating parts for it now. I have a month off work in the new year to build it, and a month or two of parental leave in the summer to enjoy it!

Thanks Slo, and yes it is mine. That pic is from a classic m/c get together at Barber Motorsports park in Georgia from 2011. Sorry I'm just now answering your question.

No I don't have any kind of build thread, but lots of others do over on the SOHC4 forums for pretty much any model of that era of Honda motorcycles. I like those 350s; light and nimble, if a bit underpowered. I don't know if I'd have enough confidence to ride one on the highway, but around town they do just fine. If you find a nice original exhaust snap it up asap, as they're hard to find because the originals were very prone to rust.

In other news, I was heartbroken when I had to put down my dog Sandy in 2011. I didn't have any animals for about a year when I picked up this brute named Alex:

Here's our little girl. She's a mixed lab with chow and pit. She's not allowed in the garage if the door is open because she'll take off down the street... She loves to run.

She's very sweet to people but if you open the front door unexpected, she comes running with her 'big girl' bark on. She also doesn't play well with other dogs... Especially if the daughter is near. It's the protective part of the pit coming out.
