This is Chance, my Australian Shepperd.
He was born deaf, but obeys hand signals well.
He loves to go for rides.

pq2j.jpg

He is also very light on his feet.
Pancho is our other Aussie, (the red dog) not as light on his feet, but is a very good cattle dog

gpt9.jpg

Sorry to hear about him being deaf. I had an Aussie quite a few years back and would like to get another one. Dink was his name and smart as hell. One white eye and one brown eye. If it wasn't someone always asking if he was blind in that eye, it was me telling them it was his "Evil eye" and don't stare at it or he'll go off. Everyone would turn their head away

Dink got along with everyone though other than my BIL. The BIL lived on a farm and never owned dogs. Dink must have sensed it because every time the BIL would walk in the house, Dink would nip at his ankles just to screw with him I think.

Dink was a funny dog to. If it came to a fight, he wouldn't back down. As soon as he had the other dog cowering down, he'd hike his leg and piss on them. The neighbor had a yippy yappy Rat Terrier. Every Time that dog came outside it was non stop barking for no reason. On a few occasions, he would stick his head under the privacy fences we had and Dink would run over and piss on his head. I'd then hear the woman next door say "Buster, hows come your all wet" :lol_hitti

I guess I don't have a garage dog, I have a garage cat, well not even my cat, it is the wife's cat but it follows me everywhere and lays anywhere I am working. Sometimes even ON what I am working on. This cat crawled into the inner fender well and went to sleep when I was working under the hood of this car. The cat can be seen in my Garage Tour video. My cat stays out of the garage anytime I am in there and sleeps all day.

So Sunday afternoon, my wife woke me up about an hour before my alarm. Mind you I'm working night 12.3 hour shifts and this will be my 6th in a row. She woke me to inform me that I was the greatest husband ever. OK, what the hell did she do that she needs to butter me up for?? She went to petsmart to get dogfood for our 3 dogs. The APL was there doing an adoption drive. She saw this puppy that nobody was paying any attention to. So she asked to hold him for a moment. Well that was the end of that, next question was can I fill out the paperwork? So now we have a new puppy. He is a lab/basset mix I'm expecting that he will get maybe as much as 75 lbs, but he'll be low to the ground just like my Camaro. My wife claims that he is MY dog, I keep telling her that he will decide who his human is. But he seems to be following me the most so far. So I will start introducing him to the garage once I have some time our there. We'll just have see how this plays out.

(Black) My 2yr old male mastiff/cane corso about 120lbs and growing! Cool dog! Got him from a rescue.

(Brown) my 3yr old female French mastiff about 110lbs. She was a rescue also. Sweet as they come till she sees a stranger then she makes her presence known!

A lot of beautiful dogs here. I've posted my Anna before, and I am doing it again since she is 14 1/2 today. Purebred labs are not known for living beyond 14. I don't know what keeps her going, but I am amazed every morning that she wakes up. She is close to the end but still makes me smile all the time. Anyone else have a lab this old?

Holly Cow! Almost that same thing happend to me about a week ago. I was at work so atleast I'd had my coffee. She called to butter me up before letting me know she was bringing home her co-workers dog because her co-worker was going on vacation and didn't have anyone to watch the dog. -long story deleted- now the dog is ours. She's a 8 week old Yorkie. A holly terror when she's awake but a big mush when she's tired. Not much of a garage dog yet, but I'm sure that'll change in time, if the other dogs don't eat her first

Not sure what happened to my pic of the new puppy. I can't get photobucket to load. But strange that only one pic was lost and not the others that were posted. but here is a different approach.

Jimmy, I had a chocolate Lab named Karma. She was my best friend for 14 years. She was approx. 16 when I finally had to make the call. very difficult decision. Cherish everyday with your girl there.

This is my 4 year old Weimaraner Gunner and my dad. Not much of a garage dog he's scared to death of the air compressor and power tools but take him in the field and shoot a 16 gauge over him and he won't flinch. Born from a hunting father and show dog mother he's a hefty 130 pounds and stands belly button high. My first hunting dog and I'll be damned if I ever find one a quarter as good as he is and an eighth as loyal. Even though he's a hunting dog he's a spoiled brat, he thinks he's a lap dog and is treated better than most humans. Reading stories of some of you with older dogs or deceased dogs hits home. I lost my first best friend a Brittany spaniel when I was 8 and didn't get another until gunner. I'm now 19

My pup. 10 month old mutt. He has two modes - wired and crashed. When he is crashed will sleep next to the air compressor while running with impact and saw zaw in use. When he is wired he has to taste everything.

About 14 months old

He weighs 65kg, or about 140lbs. Eats like a beast and drop bombs like ant heaps. Love him to bits.

Looks like it has a lot of hound in the mix....my Walker Hound is the same way- two speeds - full tilt and dead to the world. I've actually picked her up and moved her to a different room while she was sleeping and she never woke up. Being a guard dog is not on her job list.....

Our 3 1/2 year old mastador, a rescue dog, picked him up from animal aid about 12 weeks ago.
Lost our last labradaor at the grand old age of 13. lasted about a week without a dog in our lives.
Just realizes I don't have any good photos of him, currently asleep at my feet.

Both rescues. The black one is skeptical of most everyone (with good reason based on her scars) and the golden is just a clown.
