Dang, how have I missed this thread this long. Here is a conversation I overheard my two dogs, Zoey and Elvis, having yesterday while out enjoying the nice spring weather.

Hey Elvis, wanna hear a joke? ^ ^

P1010320_zpsqfrtlprw.jpg

^ ^ A blind man and his dog walks into a bar and the blind man starts swinging his dog around and around his head. The barkeep says, "What are you doing?" The blind man replies, "Nothing I'm just looking around!?

and to get full impact of just how funny Elvis thought it was, click on and expand this. And notice he had absolutely NO respect for the daffodils.

Ha, he would be a BIG boxer as you put it, lol.
I am 6'-4" and 290 lbs this should give a reference to his size:

Our boxer sleeps in the bed to, rides in the truck and runs out of the shop like a bandit with something in his mouth.

He is HUGE!

6'-4" and 290, Huh? 'Ya SHRIMP!

He's massive. I'm betting he's a big softie too. Unless of course there's a hamburger around. Probably tear the *** out of a burger!

How old is Boss Man? He looks tired but I bet he's majestic as hell. GREAT looking dog. Wish I had the room for as big a friend as him. More pic's?

Very sorry to hear, even if year ago, I unfortunately know the feeling from dogs I have lost, each one leaves a hole in my heart. Worst part about mastiff is they just don't live very long or so it seems. Ours just turned 7 and we see the old man setting in quickly. Breaks our heart we love him to pieces. I showed my wife Boss Man when she walked by my office. Mastiffs are such great dogs :)

Oh man, VERY sorry to hear that.

If you go back to page one you'll see my lifetime best friend Dudley the black Lab who inspired me to start this thread incredibly SIX years ago. Now Sooner, who was a pup when Dudley was in his prime is approaching 13 years old and time grows very short for him too. Breaks my heart.

Again, condolences. Go rescue anothe Mastiff or big dog. Boss man will smile down on you for it!

My two miniature poodles are still going strong, 15 years old now - but we had to put Noel on Prozac and remadil. The prozac is because she's lost a lot of her vision and she gets frightened easily and defensive. The remadil is fantastic for older dogs and arthritis, really helps them move without pain.

Noel used to bring me wrenches, I'd be lying on the creeper under the car and I'd point to them on the floor and she'd grab it and fetch it right to me - covered in dog slobber of course! Now she just can't see them anymore, and the cold garage floor is not to her liking, she prefers to be upstairs in her bed.

Holly on the other hand seems in as good of health as when we got her, she still frisks around like a puppy - I expect her to live to at least 20 but I'll be surprised if Noel lives another couple of years.

It's tough to lose any fur friend, but when they've been with you 15 or 20 years, it's like losing a close family member.

Not exactly a dog, but this little guy, we call Mighty Mouse will not leave me alone when I am in the garage. He's constantly at my feet or sitting on my toolbox watching me work.

And just for size reference...

He is full size and maybe 10" tall but he is scrappy and usually leaves the other full size roosters bleeding.

The shop dog on holidays and some weekends only. She has a loud voice, and has frightened a few customers in the past. I had a few people freak out, thinking she was a German Shepard ready to take a bite.

I live in the middle of the woods and for the last 2 summers I've had this wild grouse come in my shed all summer long when I'm out there. Thing walks around me and pecks at my feet and is generally a pest. HA HA Too damn cute to chase away or scare.

My old dog Emerson. Loved being outside but hated being on a leash. Here he is enjoying a game of poker in the shop.

Then we have the new dog, Molly. A rescued mutt from a ditch in North Carolina. She has her own bath mat to lay on when she's out there with me.

I was gonna make a joke about driving a car model with a dog type name. Nothing came to mind and the same with a Google search. You would think there would've been at least one. I guess no one wanted to buy and drive a 1972 Dodge Labrador SE.

this is our new addition... Charlie. a pure bred chocolate Lab pup.

Charlie is a BEAUTY. After having had my lifetime best friend Dudley the black Lab and now Sooner, the Blonde but nearly white Lab in my avatar, my next Lab will be a Chocolate. He'll be named Charlie Brown (natch) or Hershey, or Bosco. Not a lot of people are old enough to remember Bosco.
