Diesel.jpg

This is one of our two dogs, his name is Diesel, he was a stray someone dropped off in our neighborhood. The vet believes Diesel is a Border Collie/Lab mix and was about 1.5-2 years old, that was 8 years ago!!! The previous owners must have mistreated Diesel really bad, he was very skiddish and didn't like males (men or boys). My wife and daughter made friends with him first then after a week Diesel was ok with my son. He is very shy around cameras, usually when you pull out a camera he runs away, he was on his way out when I snapped this picture of him. He is a great dog, very sweet, when you are eating he will lay his head in your lap and just look at you with those big puppy dog eyes. Diesel and I have a routine, in the morning when I go fix my lunch, Diesel is in there with me. He eats the heals and bread that is not always the freshest, plus he gets a treat most of the time. I just wish I could have gotten him as a puppy so he could have had a better experience.

Our other dog is a rescue as well. My son was stationed at Ft Bliss in El Paso and a friend had to get rid of his dog and he had no takers. So the dog was headed to the pound when my son adopted him. This one's name is Duke, he is part blue healer/great Pyrenees. Duke is what we call our "special" dog...he is not right! The word goofy doesn't come close to describing this guy! I'll see if I can get a picture of him!

I saw that great picture of Big Mack and had to add recent shots of my two buddies. Tiny, the female Rott is about to turn three, and Payton is about to turn two years old. They're both just starting to figure out the rules and expectations around here.

Been working in the garage all weekend upgrading our spiral staircase. This is my helper. I think sawdust make him anxious.

Cute ... Looks like my Leonidas (Leo) when he was a pup. I see her ears aren't cropped. Did you get the tail cropped? If Leo still had his it would be a table sweeper for sure!

We left the ears floppy I don't need Lucia looking more aggressive. she came with a cropped tail other wise I would have left it long. she doing good in the shop, ok with the air compressor and some air tools.

Mark, your dog looks just like my Riley. Here's the only pic of him on this PC:

good thread :)

This is my dog Nash. He is a 95 ish pound black mouth cur that we rescued and I openly admit to liking him more then almost everyone I know. Family included haha.

He's not much for the garage/shop I guess he'd rather lay on the porch than in there. Can't say I blame him but he is always up for a ride short or long, loves adventures as much as I do and is a good companion at cruise nights.

Man great subject.

I have a cat. This cat I got as a little tiny kitten. Her momma was a victim of a tornado; along with most of her siblings and the lady that had them didn't know that she had kittens. I was helping clean up her place and found this tiny little cat mewing for her momma. Couldn't let it die, so I took her home. She didn't have anything to do with me for about 4 months, and honestly still doesn't except for me bringing food. Very little food at that. But I will say this. She is wild, and mean. Meanest little cat I've ever seen in my entire life. Not rabid...I took her in for all the shots and to get fixed but she it just mean and aggressive. You don't walk into the shop without calling her name..which is...dusty. Odd, once you call her name, she will leave you alone. I think she's got some kind of disease or something with the way she's aggressive but I don't know, the vets won't even hardly take her in without sedating her. Darn cat has scarred my hands up I don't know how many times and not from claws-those are a different story. She just likes to bite and bite hard, like drawing blood. I pity the poor fool that breaks into the shop.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not much of a cat person, but this one is a good one. She keeps the mice down too. And spiders, wasps (she eats wasps), june bugs, beetles, snakes (I guess snakes look like string or yarn or something to a cat), about everything. Ants too. She'll play with them until they're dead, then eat them. Still ain't figured out how a cat can eat a wasp. I can't even swat them without getting stung.

Good part about a cat is that I can leave on vacation and she takes care of herself without anyone around to have to feed her or water her. She drinks out of puddles in the ditch and eats everything in sight, and almost anything that moves. I give her some chicken scraps or beef or pork, cut off before I cook it. And once a day a few ounces of special kitty dry food. She kills the rest herself. Amazing how house cats are just like their bigger cousins the tigers and lions and bobcats. True independent hunters. This is the first housecat I've had in years, well since I was a little kid when I killed the white one by accident.

Haha My nutcase Sam eats wasps all the time! Snaps at them and gets stung, shakes her head and then right back to trying to eat the little buggers. It's hilarious.

She looks like a big softie, but that's all to lull you into a false sense of security before she attacks!

That's her and her buddy Hendrix, the Great Dane twice her size. Rest in Peace you big crazy fella! But them fighting was all in good fun, neither would hurt a fly. (But a wasp on the other hand...)

Time to say Bye, Sam! Smile for the camera.

She's a pure-bred pain in the ***! :p She's a humane society mutt, I'm guessing probably a cross between a shepherd and a smooth collie, but not sure. She has a long cork-screw tail that when it hangs straight touches the ground and is a complete nut.

I've posted pictures of her here a few times, but I can't help it. I love my goofy gal.

She's a looker! I have 3 Shepherds and 1 Shepherd Collie mix and she looks a lot like my Charlie

This picture is from a few years ago. She is a retired service dog. We raised her from 8 weeks old to one year. She trained for another year, then was a full wheelchair service dog for 7 years. We were lucky enough to adopt her back when she retired.

She looks a LOT like Sooner, my avatar. Got him at 9 weeks. Sister in law lived in Oklahoma then (hence his name) and adopted him for us from a litter of unauthorized but pure bred Labs. Champion mother was "gotten to" by black Lab dad who jumped the fence before the champion stud was due to uh..."service" her.

He's a gentle giant, 105 lbs and not overweight in his prime. Now a bit but he's gonna be 13 Labor Day weekend. He's got tumors all over and I have to give him pain meds morning and night. It absolutely KILLS me to know he will be gone soon. Love him to death.

We actually lost her this year. Had to put her down just a few weeks ago. She was 14 and a half years old. We were lucky to have had so much time with her. I have 2 more Labs, 8 and 10 years old. She was my 'one' for sure. 14 and a half is a good long run for a big dog, and we did a lot together. Lots of miles riding shotgun in the motorhome going racing. She loved the attention at the races! Every year I'd take her to the SCCA Solo Nationals. 1100 competitors, and almost a full week of racing. That's a lot of folks to pet your pup.

Enjoy your time with him. Every day is a gift.

Some gorgeous pups in this thread. Love them all! They're a gift.

My big guy Riley definitely has some facial expressions.
