I love springers, really cute dog. I have to say though if one of ours touched a single snap-on tool they wouldn't be coming in the house for a while :willy_nil

OMG yesss  Name suits him nicely

It's what I used to call my Sooner (avatar). He wasn't anywhere near as big as a Great Pyrenees but he was huge for a Lab. He was pedigreed but just too big for the standard. Vet said he was among the biggest Labs he'd ever seen.

I miss my boy more than I can say. Nearly every day I see his bed or drive HIS truck and say, "I miss you boy, I hope you're in Heaven"

Dan - We sooo much would like to take him off the lead/run, but are so afraid he will bolt off after some scent. We had a cocker spaniel some years back that was hit in the road and the bastards did not stop. Thinking about invisible/pet fence... but have mixed feeling on it. It was a good feeling rescuing this cute little guy...and then a big bonus when we see what a good dog he is.

Try the invisible fence. I've used it for almost 20 years with a few different dogs. They learn the boundaries very quickly, it gives then some freedom and keeps them off the 55 mph road i live on. Great looking dog you have there!

Steve,
Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like you're doing something wrong or cruel. Clearly, you're not - my apologies. You're protecting the little fella, kudos to you for it.

I live in suburbia and don't relate to non-fenced lots so I just figured you had a fenced yard. I've heard good and bad about those electronic fences. They work, I don't think they're cruel but I've also heard certain dogs learn to take a running start at the shock area to get past it fast. Maybe install one and have him approach it slowly on a lead and bit by bit over the course of days show him the full extent of it. Give the little guy some scratching behind the ears for me!

Bones has come out with in the garage the last couple of days. Despite me trying to fix a spot up for him, he wants to be right beside me. I grabbed my phone and while under the Mustang, snapped this pic.

....Before you know it he will have learned enough to hand you a needed 5/8" or 3/4" wrench without you even asking. What a beautiful dog.

Frank is my little shadow, but usually goes out to lay in the sun when I'm in the garage. As you can tell he's not thrilled getting his picture taken. It's 95° out, and he'd rather be laying out on the hot concrete. Weirdo.

My garage dog, Ace. He used to love sitting in the Jeep while I was working on it. Now that it's gone he usually just lays in the worst possible spot to get in the way of whatever I'm doing haha.

Brother and sister - Sheppard, Husky and Lab mix. Damn smart and I would not want to be on their bad side.

He's more likely to run off with it and try to chew it up. LOL.

Thanks.
