This is my ole pal Hershey. He passed away three years ago after 15 years of being a true friend.

Only recently did I feel like I wanted to get another dog so a few weeks ago, Boudreaux came home with me. He's off to a pretty good start.

Garage dog update. With the passing of our 13+ year old Akita Lucy, we found a new friend for Rocky (8 year old Boston Terrier). Rocky and his new brother Pickles (5 1/2 month old French Bulldog), are getting along just fine!

Mrs Outlander has brought them to see me in the garage in hopes one or both will become garage dogs. We shall see.

He is usually the color of that one little clean brown spot on the top of his head. I accidentally locked him in the garage when I went to work so he ate the oil drain pan spout then rolled in the diesel oil that spilled everywhere.

Great looking pup!

Years ago with my last two dogs, my son left a pan of drain oil on the garage floor. A critter got into the garage and the dogs dumped the oil pan during the chase. It must have gone on a while judging from the oily paw prints every where. Unfortunately we have a dog door into the house. My jaw dropped when i open the door.....oil everywhere inside and two dogs with very shiny coats. It took the kid hours to clean up. Cured him off leaving pans of oil on the garage floor though.

OMG
That looks almost as bad as getting hit by a skunk which almost all of my dogs experience once in their life around here.

We really need to be careful about what these little stinkers chew on

My buddy just paid a $2500 vet bill after his Shepherd swallowed a rock and a piece of plastic and couldn't pass it.

Stuck in the lower intestine.

I can picture that almost exactly lol. I left the front door open once when I was working on the kitchen and he chased a rat into the house. It immediately disappeared behind the cabinets and even after hours of searching we couldn't find it. It stayed in the house for 2 days and chewed all the electrical wires and the drain for the dishwasher, which I didn't realize until I had a few beers in me on a Saturday night. As I watched water and sparks coming from under the dishwasher I decided no matter what the rat was going to die. I blocked every way out of the kitchen and started taking apart the cabinets but the little ******* rat shot out and jumped over all the **** I had used to block between the kitchen and the front room, of course Zeus followed him and he ran under the wife's china cabinet which Zeus totally destroyed then he ran under the book shelf with the same result by the time they were finished the front room looked like we had been robbed. There was glass and blood everywhere, wedding China pieces everywhere. I was still standing in the kitchen in shock wondering how I was going to tell the wife when Zeus hopped over the piles of furniture into the kitchen with the rat hanging out of his mouth and proceeded to shake his head from side to side spraying blood all over the ceiling and walls. Dog needed stitches but seemed pretty happy to have killed the rat.
Him and the wife haven't had a great relationship since then lol.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Strange enough my chocolates birthday is on the day you posted your picture.

Nice looking boy! My chocolate has been the most entertaining of the labs I've had.

I had to check your profile to see where you're from and if our pups might have come from the same litter, but looks like you're in Illinois. I'm in MN, so it's doubtful i guess. Happy belated birthday to Bear

This is Zach. He's retired from chasing sticks and chewing up parts and now just hangs out in the shop with me and does his best to photo bomb nearly every pic I take. He's still a little shy though. Ed.

Here's my little pound puppy/rescue 'Chloe' (rat terrier/feist). She loves being out in the garage with me. A pic from last Christmas.

Damn both the oil and rat stories, gezzis guys I feel for ya!

Our two mastiffs decided to fight to the death late one Saturday night. Took me almost an hour to get them apart from the death grip they had on each other's throats. I literally ended up chocking one out with my belt. Anyhow I took our female and locked her in my office which was at that time all white with a epoxy floor to keep her clean. Took the other one to the emergency room 30 miles away and immediately dropped him off to head back home for the other one. By the time I got home the entire 500sqft of room was covered in blood, all over the ceiling, walls and pools of it everywhere. Looked like a damn mass murder scene.

I can't imagine having to clean up oil off everything.

Our first Akita was a American type .
These 3 are a family. father, mother, daughter. We are now trying to have puppies from the daughter. Breeding Akita's is the hobby of my wife.

This is Lou. He is actually more of my wife's dog, but he occasionally will accompany in the garage. He is a 10 month old Labrador/Pit Bull mix.

Puppy update. Pickles (the French Bulldog) is being well trained by Rocky (the BT). Rocky has skin cancer (tumour removed a week ago - clean blood test! YAY!) so the shirt is to keep his stitches clean - it is not a fashion statement!

This is Lucy she's a Boarder Collie or Welsh sheep dog.. we got here at 2-3 years old as a rescue dog.. she'd been beaten and abused and the slightest noise would set her off shaking..

She's 17 years old now and still going strong.. though she is now deaf and her eyesight is failing her..

Saying that while she still eats and wags her tail when we come home then she's staying put. Vet says she's healthy if a little over weight (she's an old lady.. show me one that isn't..lol) Happy dog =happy house. :)

In my case, when watching TV allowances must be made to accommodate all viewers
