This is Reeses a big Pug and ShopBoss.
Didn't want a Dog. My boy when he moved out got her. Then he had to move to a no pets place. When the word pound came up I couldn't stand that idea so I adopted her.

She was a handful. No manners, training and a barking fool. Didn't play well with Man or beast. The FedEx guy wouldn't even come in. I had to go out to get my packages. After spending much time watching that Dog Whisperer guy I caught the drift. Took about a year and a half of exercise, discipline and reward to get her settled down. In her fourth year with me now.
She now gets along with other dogs and is great with the grand kids and other people I deem worthy.

Dang, sure wish I could have done the rehab in an hour like Cesar does. :dunno:
It's a never ending job.

Now, she's still a barking fool when anyone comes by but I can shut her down by taking control. Once she sees that I give someone the ok she goes about her biz but never too far away. The FedEx guy even comes in and gets to pet her now. When I'm not at the shop and someone comes up she goes scary ballistic. Worked out pretty well I think.

Spiking the ball (likely the only earned touchdown my ILLINI made this year)

Reeses and I would like to wish all a Merry Christmas.
She is not too happy at having to sit for so long without getting a treat.

It's been a looong Day

Here is ours, 1 year old on the 19th. Rufus the mutt. Pretty sure his momma was a tramp. 40lbs of energy, 6ozs of common sense, and yes he thinks we are morons. He isn't real sure he likes the garage, but he will.

That's a neat looking dog... what's it related to?

Shiba Inu is one of the 6 primary breeds of dogs in Japan, actually from what I've read they are the most popular breed there. They are related to huskies, spitz, etc. They are kind of like a miniature Akita....Teika is 11 years old and weighs in at all of 18 lbs. They are used for hunting in Japan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiba_Inu

I've always had German Shepards in the past, but this dog is the smartest dog I've ever had. Sometimes she's too smart for her own good. As someone else posted her attitude shows in the photo.

"Chassis" - That's excellent. We should start a thread just for good dog names. Garage or car/truck/boat/plane dog names. Harley is common. "Chopper" is great for the right dog.

Sasquach - Your girl pick up satellite on those ears? What a rack! What's her name?

I hired this dog named Po-Po as security for the house and garage... I might have to fire him, since I caught him sleeping on the job... again...:headscrat

He just turned 1 year old on the 15th.

Here's our 5 year old Shiba Inu named Harley. She's a tough little thing. She's got our neighbor's chocolate lab scared to death of wandering onto our property. She kinda cat-like and likes to be left alone at night in the garage to hunt mice.

i really appreciate these threads..........love dogs and cats but just can't bring myself to be set up for the heartache of losing another again..........my sincere admiration to those of you that can find the strength to have , love and lose such good friends..............been told i am selfish for not wanting to share the love of a pet, but really it's a weakness on my part i openly accept.............on an upbeat note, theyb are at thier cutest covered in mud............

You never get over or forget the ones you've lost. They can never be replaced. But, getting another is not a replacement, but a chance to bond with something that just gives without conditions. No two dogs are ever alike and you grow to love them because of their differences. It does not diminish but rather strengthens the memories of all the others that have come before. Can't seem to upload pics today for some reason but pics will be forth coming. We have Giant Schnauzers along with a mini and a jack russel, horses, cats, bird etc.....

I just cannot wrap my head around how that MaxJax can hold the car up. It seems it would just collapse on the car. :headscrat

Nice looking pup

At first I was leary about the MaxJax too, but with almost a year's worth of use and having larger (and heavier) cars & truck on it than my squarebird, I am sold on it!

It is so damn useful and quick to setup/tear down that I couldn't imagine not having one!

Sid is a 1/2 AmStaff & 1/2 Boxxer RUNT that we had to bottle feed when his mother rejected him. Now he's an 76lb powerhouse.

Yes sir.... I know I'm not alone here in CA when I pledge my allegiance to New Castle Brown Ale! I always have a 12 pack on the shelf and six pack in the fridge

I also have a few New Castle bar signs posted up in my garage.

Here are a few shots of ours. One of the giants in the pictures was put down two years ago due to declining health and old age. She was the matriarch and ran the house. One of the others is a 12 year old rescue male that was highly abused. He has a permanent scar that won't grow hair around his neck from prior owners. People can be such idiots! He loves it here and is still going strong. The puppy with the taped ears is the same dog holding the stick in one of the shots. Thats a 10 year old mini with the then 10 week old puppy. Couldn't imagine not having at least one dog around. Goes with the horses, cats and bird.

Bella is a garage dog in training. She's our daughter's dog, but she's staying with us while she's in college.
