This is my girl Summer. She’s a 10 year old beagle we rehomed. She likes to come out and sniff around the garage but prefers to be in warmth and sleeping on something soft.

Our first two dogs were beagles. Great dogs. I miss them so much...

Winston Cowhill III

he’s not really the third of anything. He was named by nieces before I got him (my brother has his mom).

He’s an Australian Shepard golden doodle cross.

Great shop dog if I can keep him out of the ant bait.

Oh this is my kind of thread. Within the last couple of years we've become involved in dog rescue and it really makes me sad we waited so long to do so. Our pack:

Austin, the 3 year old Pyrenees Rottweiler

https://scontent-dft4-2.**.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/13680280_1775518952732103_8815869320166666914_o.jpg?oh=1f2a4cceb7a69706d490c77caec032a4&oe=5B26E806

Sketcher the 5 year old Black Lab who was so unsocialized when we first took her in that she couldn't get through the doorway without freezing and has now blossomed into a confident girl.

https://scontent-dft4-2.**.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/11665449_1702018903415442_2831897157129727929_n.jpg?oh=88f60749d4e17724319e521cfec38690&oe=5AF6C8BA

And Bronco, the Rat Terrier who ran the streets in our town for two years despite multiple attempts to capture him. I was finally able to get him with the help of a female Rattie who was in heat. He pretty much adopted us after he figured out the streets kinda sucked after all.

https://scontent-dft4-2.**.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/26060414_10214675262786092_6626516746714757726_o.jpg?oh=b1dbe0f1d2e44ea30f352e99e5c4acf6&oe=5AEBE37A

And finally a shot of all the dogs we fostered at some point last year.

https://scontent-dft4-2.**.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/26233398_10214786064996078_7057726175872183585_o.jpg?oh=cea6cf152961ae606e434770353624b4&oe=5AF6D48B

Together they provide us with endless smiles and laughter and as the saying goes every day they make me want to be the person they think I am.

Our Dobe.

She follows me between the house garage and the Garagemahal.

She gets more excited to go to the garage than she does to go for a walk or car ride!

That's how my dog is. He loves his walks, but he loves getting to lay in the garage while I work even more. Every day when we come back from out walk he goes straight to the garage door expecting me to open it so he can then hang out there.

Here’s Harvey. He is new to the house after Pepper my Aussie of 15 years had to be put to sleep. Harvey is still learning the ropes, but he’s catching on 17ccfabc1e701fc0b85811ded939487f.jpg

Been looking at this thread, brings me a little solace. Had to put my best bud of 15.5yrs to sleep today, his body finally gave out. Vet said we should do it a yr and a half ago, but my guy proved her wrong. Held him and cried like a baby...Love them while you can.

PS My big boy loved ice cubes

He looks like he’s beside himself with happiness with that big chunk of ice

There’s nothing like an old dog...they know what you are going to do before you know it yourself

Getting scolded for walking under a vehicle. It's unsafe and the old Dodge leaks fluids a bit.

Not a garage dog yet but he will get there. I had to put My male down before Christmas. He was my constant companion, went to work with me nearly every day. I still look for him. Putting him down sucked
While the pup will help ease the pain he will never replace Hobey.
The pups name is Gustav, goose for short :)e0e50fc01c8d9a01e669637810adbfd5.jpg

Okay I'll play...

Lucky is my dog, a GSD / Chow mix, kind of a gold/red color. About 7 years old (was a rescue so not 100% sure on age)...

Milo is his best friend, an Australian Shepherd, brown & white. He gets to stay with us from time to time. He's about 5 I think...

Lucky does not care about shop noises, and often I have to tell him to go to the other side of the garage when I'm drilling or grinding. Milo is a complete spaz for anything that makes noise and will bark and try to attack it!

Here's Stripey, my shop cat. He's on the lookout for mice. He is a true mouse assassin. He only eats part of each mouse tho... he doesn't much care for the heads or paws. I'll often find 2-3 mouse heads on the shop floor in the mornings.

warning this is sad.... look away now if you love your dog...

So I lost my garage Dog Lucy between Christmas and New year..

We'd had the pleasure of her company for almost 18 years and she passed at almost 20 years old which isn't bad for a Boarder collie..The Vet we used to take her to arranged her cremation for us and when I went to get her ashes they gave me a card from all the staff at the practice..

It had an Inked paw print on it from Lucy..

So today I had this done by my Son Kyle...

This is River, our new black lab. About 12 weeks in this pic a few weeks back. Been too cold to do much in garage but he has a chair and blanket to sit in when he is hanging out.

Let me know if he needs re-homed. :D Good looking pup.

Thanks, I think he's a keeper. Wife and kids wanted a dog for years and I finally agreed. Actually got him from a local family who breeds labs. His dad is "silver", which I guess is a heated topic in the lab world; mom is yellow. All 9 pups were brown or black. We picked him as he was pretty stout, even at a young age. He is smart and we are working with him a little at a time.

Cute pup. I wanted a rescue or shelter pup but couldn't find any labs so I went with a local breeder who had a litter. Congrats and good luck!

If I came across a black lab pup that looked like that, I would just ask my wife for forgiveness or just move to my cabin

We are on our 3rd lab but I really miss my black one

Here's Bo and pepper. No is our foxhound rescued when he was 2, severely abused and neglected. Pepper the blue healer/ terrier mutt was just a puppy but came from the shelter at the same time. a863d996435e6262b42d5ae443563719.jpg36780c7cfe2d7b77f436f3b713d956bb.jpg8ced6ea31bdca5447e2e66a3d876ab39.jpg9c79e2e278692123dc4d1812702d7bf3.jpg8a932bcc90ad40558c8f924cc4301b32.jpg53d57423b78ce971f61b2dde0527c55d.jpgece7b8c0484852db7398c7237e20224f.jpg00c5b78e5ca1ca0ae2342f2c899fae7f.jpg

Not exactly a "garage dog", but Max was always quick to join me out in my garage shop while I puttered around with whatever. He'd curl up somewhere & watch whatever I was doing, then follow me back into the house, generally covered with sawdust.

Sadly, we lost him last week @ 14 years old. He had been being treated for a heart problem for several years, and he finally gave out. For any readers familiar with the AKC dog training/ competition world, he was my wife's Novice-A dog, and went all the way to a UD title. We'll miss him forever, but we have others to remind us of how fortunate we are!

R.I.P. Maskova's Thunder Ridger, aka Max.

Incredibly, it’s almost been 9 years since I started this thread with pictures of my Labradors, Sooner & Dudley. Both are gone now and I still miss them more than I can say. Rest in Paradise, my best friends.

Yesterday, we lost our rescue miniature poodle girl, Sugar. She was the sweetest, most gentle little soul. Followed me everywhere. We adopted her and her litter-mate brother, Joey about 6 years ago when their owner became terminally ill and didn't want them ever separated.

She had gone from 17lbs two years ago to only 10lbs 6oz, and in the last few days had gone completely blind:(. Many Vet visits verified she didn’t have parasites, diabetes or thyroid problems. There was something wrong with her metabolism - she couldn't sit still a minute, wandered the house all night too. But she was never “sick” - no diarrhea, vomiting, no bleeding, no pain we could detect, she was hungry all the time and we fed her lots but she just could NOT keep weight.

Finally, the vet said there was no quality of life left. She was stumbling into everything, very weak, frail. It just KILLED me to make the decision but at least she is at peace. Rest easy my little girl. Love, your doggy daddy, Dan

In the photo, she is on the right. Joey on the left. She was always silver in the face, hence her name.

Sorry for your loss, Dan. It's always hard, especially when you have to decide. God bless you for doing the right thing, as hard as that is. RIP Sugar. You were loved.

Thanks for this thread. It's still my favorite, I enjoy seeing the variety of man's best friend.
