Updated pictures of Rocky (the Boston Terrier) and Pickles (the French Bulldog). Mostly friends, they do piss each other off on occasion like any family members do.

I presume your dog has some Labrador Retriever in him/her? Anyway, I ask because my lifetime best friend, Sooner (avatar) had the same pinkish nose. In Labradors (not sure it applies to other breeds) it’s called a “Dudley” nose. Which is funny because the black Labrador I had before Sooner & while Sooner was young was named Dudley! He was a GREAT dog. Got him at 6 weeks old and held him until his last breath. Rest in Paradise my great friend.

Anyway, I really like that look.

For 60 years, since I was born, I've never not had at least one dog, until recently when I had to put down Zeke, who was posted earlier. It's been about 2 months, and that was enough.

This is "Kevin' (who names a dog Kevin?). I broke Kevin out of doggy jail this afternoon. He'll be getting a new alias soon enough.

Kevin...

That’s a good name right there. It means Handsome!

Good looking pup! And thank you for adopting another family member!

What a good looking pup! I've never had a lab, but lots of friends and family do, and they're wonderful animals.

I wanted to name mine Jeff but I was afraid it would insult a friend's boss/neighbor. The dog is a 'Jeff" all the way. Instead he answers as Cooper. Some human names a fitting, Kevin is one of them. The hard sound of the K and the seldom used V sound will get his attention and will cause little doubt you are talking to him.

When I was a teen we found a Basset hound, I named him George. A few weeks later we found his owner. Back then you had to use the classifieds in newspapers and a weekly one called The Trading Post.

My dog as a kid was named Daggit. Yes, this was around 1980.

The shelter vet says he's a Spaniel/Lab mix, which is apparently a thing these days among designer dog types. They call them 'Spanadors' or 'Cockadors'. The more you know I guess... :headscrat

Here's my garage helper, my 8 year old Yellow Lab, Dutch. Loves hiding his tennis balls under my toolboxes while I'm working and whines until I retrieve them.

Pretty sure I'm his pet human at this point.

Pet human ... hah
I can relate...

My dogs are always by my side when I am home and I am always talking to myself or talking to them

So for instance when I say well I’m going to be doing a little welding in a little while...

They both get up and walk out of the garage... LoL

Retrieving the ball or getting a treat gone astray...
my 10-year-old boy is the one for job

He will low crawl for 10 feet just to get a snack... lol

Little girl don’t want any part of that.

She has her own skills.

Funny how these dogs have their own personalities.

My sister JUST sent me this photo of her newest rescue. I just had dinner with her night before last and nothing was mentioned about getting another dog - she has two already. Kylie a 9 year led miniature Australian shepherd, and Izzie, a tiny chihuahua/Jack Russell mix that is also getting on in years.

This must have come out of the blue. Her name is Greta and judging from her look she’s older. Probably related to Dumbo and can fly with those ears! Lol. But knowing how my sister picks dogs she’s likely sweet and gentle as can be. I’m glad for them both.

Having had a couple Labs I can say for sure that we are their pets! And I wouldn’t have it any other way. They’re truly GREAT dogs.
I have a friend or two with other breads who actually get mad about how good mine is. Of course half of it is what we tell and teach the dog to do, but a Labrador just make it so much easier.

Last night while out for dinner a friend and his wife were gushing about how good my dog is when I bring him over. Another friend with an extremely undisciplined Cockapoo quickly changed the subject. It was so obvious. LOL

What I have learned about Labs is that they grow to full physical size after about a year like most dogs but they mature into adult dogs after more like 2 to 2-1/2 years. At least this has been my experience with my two so far.

Both were males but someone told me that female Labs tend to stay juvenile acting until and unless they have a litter of pups. I don’t know if that’s true but I wouldn’t be surprised. Mine seemed to always be seeking to “read” me and to please me. Maybe it’s a little juvenile on MY part to love a pet for that trait but they were that an SO much more. Rest In Peace my boys until I hopefully see you again.

He's not mine. He's the neighbor's dog. He comes over as soon as they are not home. Hang's out. Run's home as soon as he hears their car.

New pictures of Joey fresh from the groomer today. He’s SUCH a different kind of dog than my Labrador Retrievers (avatar) but he’s loyal as an old hound dog and so easy to take with me anywhere. No shedding, loves riding in the truck.

Yeah, he’s DEFINITELY a little “foo-foo” dog, but WTH I don’t care what anyone thinks. He’s a good little friend and is right by my side no matter what I’m doing. In fact he’s laying right next to be as I type this.

I had 2 dogs like that. A mother and her son. They were escape artists, and always got out of their yard. They always came over and hung out at my house. They even had their own water and food dishes out front after a while.

The neighbors (friends of mine) finally built an inescapable kennel. I miss those pups coming over. I still go down there to pet them and say hi. Good pups, just they love to RUN!
