I love regular human names for dogs. I was gonna name my dog Jeff but I didn't want to insult a friend's boss who I see fairly often. Went with a more traditional Cooper instead.

When Rick is being a **** you can call him Richard.

Here's 'Cooper Dog' hanging with me at a customer's house last spring. She has always had labs so she loves when he comes to visit. Sadly that's the last time he got to visit as she passed a few months later.

attachment.php

Here he is the next day finding some shade after I punted his basketball about 50 times for him to chase down. That's first time I really noticed that in a large area he flanks me when he returns with the ball. That's has to be something that was bread into Labradors for hunting.

This is Kensi. She’s not much help as she usually grabs tools and takes them out back to bury.

My dane/mastiff mix, named Lexi. Shes 16 months old. Loves the shop, but gets board easily. Spends most of her time begging me for treats, so I cant get any work done.

Bought a last second flight to New Orleans on Saturday afternoon, rental car and a nights stay in Lafayette LA at the "murder motel" as I have named it followed by gas and snacks for a marathon solo drive home to VA on Sunday all to be able to rescue these two pups and bring them home! The brindle boy is staying with us and the little girl was picked up by her new family today. Their mother was a stray that was picked up by animal control down there and deemed aggressive because she was growling and them trying to protect her 10 pups so they euthanized her and left the pups for dead sadly. Luckily they were picked up by a good samaritan and turned over rescue before their eyes had even opened and have been hand fed and cared for ever since. They are 7 weeks now and our boy is 17lbs!

Here is Rhodie, my Rhodesian Ridgeback. Man is he a handful. Pretty smart but willful as all get out. He knows what I ask of him but sum times he just doesn’t want to comply.

He is sweet and a good guy but has a booming bark that shakes the timbers.

I could fill the thread with photos of our rescues, but I'll just post a couple here.

Aidan on the left, Kiley on the right. We lost Kiley to hermangiosarcoma (aggressive cancer that primarily affects GSDs and Goldens) in 11/2017. Aidan is still with us and just turned 9. Very smart, very loyal, afraid of everything but he'll come charging in if he thinks I'm in danger. Hikes 1,000+ miles per year with me.

I lost my buddy of 13 years almost two years ago now. We rescued a new pup finally on Monday night. Possibly another in two weeks.

That breaks my heart

But that new puppy looks like a lot of fun and I know he will have a good daddy.

My old boy is pushing 12 now and has degenerative myelopathy
Spine/dragging his rear feet slightly.

He wears protective booties whenever he is outside now
He still likes to hop around and have fun but we don’t know how long he has so tomorrow we pick up a new male puppy to add to the pack.

Keep it going.

This is him right now as we speak

You need to upgrade to a three seater. Not enough room for three dogs and you.

Had to put our Charlie Girl down last week. 13 years old to the best of our knowledge, we've had her for 6 good years. Cancer.

I'm about 6 weeks out from losing my pooch. Still miss her each and every day, so I feel for you all. They are so much part of our lives.

But hates the rain, right?

Looks like my parent's dog that I'm watching today, she too loves the water. Get the hose out and you can't get her away from it, she'll chase the stream til you get bored with it. She'll take the full strem in the face like an idiot and come back for more. She wants in the shower when you're in there. But if it raining or even drizzling a little, it's like acid.

My old Big Boy, he was a Mountain Cur, also liked the water. I would go down to the pond to fish, and he would cruise the sides biting at frogs, funny when he actually caught one, he would foam at the mouth for 10 or 15 min.

Haha. All true. She will also go into the shower like you said and bump the shower head hose with her nose to get it to drip down to her.

This one wants to be at my side at all times but is scared of the workshop. Tough dilemma for her. Local rescue with unknown history. Has some spooky behavior, but is great with my kids (and people in general) and chickens (protects the new chicks from the old hens every spring) so she's good by me.
