This one wants to be at my side at all times but is scared of the workshop. Tough dilemma for her. Local rescue with unknown history. Has some spooky behavior, but is great with my kids (and people in general) and chickens (protects the new chicks from the old hens every spring) so she's good by me.

Good for you. My daughter is in Texas and rescues bullies all the time. They have good nature but are used by some people for wrong reasons.

Maybe if I moved the couch to the garage. She will come out with me but you can see where she would rather be.

Yep. We've always had German Shepherd dogs until this one. Totally different personalities. The shepherds were dutiful, rules-driven, and independent. This pit mix would love to be taped to my leg all day if it were possible.

I've been around many bully breed dogs over the years and they've always struck me as being insanely drive to please the owner and needing to be near at all times. This dog (Lucy) is no exception.

I can see how people take advantage of their desire to please their owner to corrupt them.

I miss this guy a lot. He was a white GSD from a rescue and no one else would take him due to his goofy behavior. We bonded instantly with him trying to come home with me when we went for our meet-and-greet visit.

He would jump into my truck through the window he was so eager to go. At the shop, he'd hop up on a high bench like a cat and watch the goings on. Have never had a dog that can jump like that.

Tomorrow will be the 3 year anniversary of his death (from old age and good times).

Southern part of a very corrupt state
Had 3 different Bouvier da Flanders all males 100+lbs.
Onyx was a bad boy, no one could turn their back on him.
He loved the shop, I had to run him over against the far wall to keep him from getting burned up from welding or grinding.
2nd boy, Mr. Moose was a dominant male and he let visitors know it without being overly aggressive, but he always stayed away from the work, even though he liked the shop.
3rd boy, St. Basil, guarded everyone, was not aggressive, and didn't want to stay in the shop.
Here's Basil, died 18 mo. Ago, I miss him.20160915_182822.jpg

This is our newest addition to the family. Triton is a yellow lab and so far has a sweet disposition but is chewing everything in site.

That sounds like a great dog - but to go out on old age and good times is pretty good. We should all be so lucky!

Our last dog died four years ago. My daughter thought it was time for another bundle of joy and this is what she got. It is a standard poodle puppy.
She is really smart and trains easily. Best of all, she sleeps through the night with one pee outside at 04:00h.
She is 3 months old. She had one "accident" this month.

That could pass for my backyard. I have three of those **** holes too plus a crazy cattle dog. We refer to the GSD's as "the Krauts"

Social distancing is not something my dog goes for. Pestering me in the garage...that's more his thing. I have to keep his tennis ball moving or I end up with this...

Picture taken in 2009 iirc. Best friends.
Now, both of them are still here, but a whole lot calmer...
