My poor Joey, I JUST picked him up from the veterinarian's office. He had oral surgery today for periodontal disease.

Turned out he had it very severe. Infections, abscesses, his tonsils were even swollen with infection. He'd already lost 14 teeth and they had to remove the remainder - 27 of them!!! We knew his teeth needed cleaning but had no idea he was this bad off. He never acted like he was pain, would eat everything. I feel terrible because he was probably in a lot of pain and for quite a while. He'll be on pain meds & antibiotics for 10 days or so. I'm hoping he's one of the little dogs that live to nearly 20 years - fingers crossed. He was just groomed yesterday and yet he looks very disheveled in this picture. He's still woozy with pain meds, won't eat or drink so far. Poor Joey. Entirely my fault.

Be (a LOT) smarter than me guys and have your dog's teeth cleaned regularly, ESPECIALLY the little dogs. I've always owned big dogs so I didn't know but Vet says the little ones don't have the bite strength to truly gnaw chew toys to clean their teeth themselves.

Poor Joey, yes I learned this is very important! My pup doesn't enjoy brushing and a lot of the time it's just an enzymatic toothpaste that he loves, started as soon as I got him along with a joint supplement.

Smart. If I ever get another puppy I plan to teach them to allow me to brush their teeth with one of those things that fits on your finger. Since puppies LOVE to chew I would think they'd go for it if the toothpaste flavor was to their liking.

^^^ I see you’ve got an upside down nut job exactly like mine except mine’s a girl. When she gets down to serious sleep it’s always belly up. Nice that they’re so comfortable where they live.

Proves they're not threatened if they sleep on they back apparently. Ours are always upside down, usually scratching the wall with their claws while asleep.

# months ago my wife said I want another dog like Rambo (a 150lb Rotty that judied a month earlier) I told her that we are too old for a puppy to run around the house.
She didn't listen and we /she found this little guy looking for a nice home.
We named him Tank and he is living up to his name

He is a very sweet but out of control dog with a mind of his own so he became my dog over night and he gets sent out to the shop when ever I go out
Just 3 short months later we have a 75 lb shop dog. Just 5 mo's old

....Ok, ok, you can post your cat I suppose but hopefully your garage mascot isn't a bird, a ferret, a tarantula or a monkey. Ok, I guess a monkey WOULD be pretty cool.....Let's see your best friend (hopefully)
My thread so totally fine with me. I even mentioned cats when I started this years ago.

Just socialize the hell out of kitty by handling her CONSTANTLY while she's young. Then she'll want it as she gets older. I used to have cats but my girlfriend is allergic to them....

Didn't find a "garage cat" thread , so here we go. Just had to share this cuteness.

Busy week in the garage this week, A/C's been kicking and everything is cool. Had to keep the overhead door open today with the A/c running. Cooper sprawled out on the cool concrete as I worked on my brother's camper/bus E350 (Coils and plugs). He loved the open side door coming in and hanging out while looking for snacks my nephews dropped. Too much glare even with sun shades.
