Very sad to hear about your sweet pooch. They’re all such good souls.

Now, WTF is up with doing that to a 911?!!

What kind of shape was the Porsche in before you did THAT to it? Absolutely KILLS me to see a Porsche 911 as a rat rod of all things.
Yes, she was around for all of my 20s, starting my businesses and all the massive changes that seem to happen early in adulthood. Time, place and a dog that I will cherish.

Quite an interesting thing there isn't it? I tossed that together circa 2012. It was a 912E, purchased it as a roller. It had some fiberglass turbo flares grafted on. I removed those and found some pretty gnarly damage and rust in the rear. At the time it would have cost $30k to make it a $15k car, so it got parted and instead of crushing the tub I put it on a truck chassis for fun. Would it be worth fixing today? Maybe. Sad thing about it is the chassis and 454 was from a square body Chevy, I have a talent of ruining stuff now worth money apparently haha.

To me, THIS is a dog. A regulation, everyone-should-have-grown-up-with-one dog.

He (she?) reminds me of my boyhood dog, "Slipper" - yeah, dumb name but we went camping with a relative that had a dog called "Sock" and I was a little guy, like 7-8 years old.

I picked him out at the neighborhood pet store that sold people's mixed breed puppies. His was price was $7.50. I'm 67 now so it was about 1965 I guess.

He looked EXACTLY like your dog. Very very warm memories of him. Many stories to tell but all good. Rest in Heaven my dearest friend. I STILL love you.

She looked a bit like our other dog we lost at the end of January and when she turned up at the rescue we couldn't refuse.

Too funny, my dog had the same experience last night. Couple of sniffs and then she focused on a higher caller.
Atleast its not a case of a quick sniff then gobble it down in one. My inlaws old dogs would eat anything they found dead or alive.

My little gal is under the weather, but hearing about National Doggie Day cheered her up (along with liberal applications of $$'s at the vet's).

My dog goes after the Toads on our patio every night. For a smart dog, she an be dumb at times. They are poisonous. First time she bit into one, her mouth foamed up like a dog with rabies in those old cartoons. I called the emergency Vet, he said "well, if she is alive in the morning, she will be OK" WTH?
Now she either takes a front to them invading her space and still tries to attack them, or She is getting some kind of high off licking the toads.
I suspect the latter

LOL

Had a pitty mix do the same. Foamed like crazy. Called ER vet. Vet told me the ones around me were not poison. Dog never bothered them again.

Where the hell in the US are there poisonous toads? Or do you guys live in New Guinea or the Amazon jungles?

But on a serious note, if the “poison” doesn’t kill the dog what DOES it kill? A bird that might try to eat them? Does anything lasting happen to the dog other than they just know it’s unpleasant to EFF with those damn frogs?

"Poison: A substance that is capable of causing the illness or death of a living organism when introduced or absorbed." Foaming and upset stomach seem like illness to me...Mild, but still and illness.

And it seems there are toads in the US that are life-threatening for dogs; The cane toad and Colorado River toad. https://www.aspca.org/news/trouble-toads-getting-bottom-toxic-threat I recon all any of us ever encounter are good old common garden toads.

UH OH! Looks like that Colorado River toad could possibly be in areas of SoCal.

I assume it needs water in its habitat but I suppose you never know.

Just night before last I took my youngest dog, Fifi (18 mo) for a walk once it got dark to avoid the heat. A few houses down she was PULLING me hard up a neighbor’s driveway. Turned on cell phone light to see this. A FRICKIN TARANTULA!! It was the size of my palm. I didn’t think they lived in ordinary suburbia. I live near a lot of hiking trails. Damn, I’ll be wearing gloves anytime I have to reach under things in the garden now.4DF04711-2E9C-43D3-9DC9-6C8208874144.jpeg8D2E5F19-BC1E-40EF-8DCE-F8A317C3F1DC.jpeg

Apparently all toads have toxins that excrete from their skins when threatened. Most cause an irritant that makes most animals spit them out. Some are deadly.

Most dogs will stay away after the first time. My Cattle Dog takes personal affront to anything in her yard.

I hate the dang things they **** these huge craps all over my patio.

How do you think they feel about the guy who built the patio over the crapping grounds they've used for thousands of years? LOL
When I first moved to Oklahoma I actually googled “what is crapping on my patio”?

This link popped up

Concidering how big they are, that has got to hurt!

I've had this old Square Head model for the last seven years.

Found at a local fast food dumpster in a shopping area.

Sweet dog and comes along for any and all adventures.

I like your '58 or '59! Let's see more pictures.

What do you mean found your dog at a dumpster? Please tell me someone DIDN'T dump him/her IN the dumpster as a pup did they? There's a particularly hot corner of hell awaiting the monster that would do such a thing.
