Here's my hydraulic Southworth lift table (36x72). Probably top 5 favorite tools I've ever had. Bought it for $300, lifts 2500lbs, solid as a rock. Had to grind and paint the top but it's so nice to work on. You can raise it high enough to rest your elbows on, which I find really handy for TIG welding and detail work.

I don't have enough room for a full size lift. So, a Abba stand works for me.
With the optional attachments I can remove the swingarm.

It's a Ninja 650 with some minor modifications. Front end swap from a KTM 450, EMIG triple clamps with stabilizer, full KTM PDS rear suspension/swingarm, cush drive wheel, custom remote aluminum fuel cell/pump relocation. And a suede seat

Bike is "done" and I ride it semi often. Kept my hands busy during a stressful time in my life. Now I just bought a house and keeping up with young kids so the bikes have taken a back seat.

Here is the lift I built a few years back. It was powered off the hydraulic press that I also built. Great for working on ATV's. Unfortunately I had to sell it when we moved across the country but when the new shop goes up (hopefully next summer) I get to start playing again.

Just got one of the Harbor Freight lift tables a month and a half ago, My old homemade lift only worked for dirt bikes. Finally found the time to start doing some mods to the lift, before I cut the floor and put it down in the hole.

It will now be able to lift ATV's with the removable side extensions (not My idea saw it online) the center section can come out so You can get close to Your work. Just got it usable for ATV's today still needs paint ,but have more mods to do to it.

I think I may have posted my two lifts earlier in this thread or another one but they had the side wings on for snowmobile and ATV work. I haven't worked on snowmobiles for a few years now and I am trying to get away from ATV's so last year I removed the side extensions and keep the front wheel clamps installed. I've been working on a lot more motorcycles over the past year and a half or so and much prefer them.


Here is my Handy and Cycle Pro lifts.

When my son gets a place of his own I think I am going to give him the Cycle Pro for his home garage and replace it with another Handy, the newer/larger one with the rear wheel dropout feature.

Here is my in-floor hydraulic lifting table/motorcycle lift.

I bought an old rusty lifting table for 108$, took it totaly apart and got it sandblasted, got it painted and it got a total overhaul. Rebuild all the electrics and even got a remote control

Manufactured extentions in front and back that I easy can "click" in place so I can lift my motorcycles and trike. The lift capacety is 1000kg.
I can also mount a vise on the table and I use the table almost every time I am in the garage.

I never gonna crawl on my knees again!

Here's mine,modified princess auto mc lift , top only (think harbour freight in USA)
Sits on dannmar 6000lb scissor lift, welded on retractable wheels, rolls out of way if I need to use as car lift.

I raise scissor lift, pull out hidden wheels on yellow m/c table, drop scissor lift, now table can be pushed away.

For all you guys with the Harbor Freight lift, what's the drive-over height with the vice/wheel chock removed? I'm hoping to get one eventually, but only if I can park one of my cars over it.

Only picture I could find of mine. I mainly work on dirt bikes so this does all that I need. It doesn't take up much space and I can easily move it out of the way.

I've had a direct list that I built my BBC chopper on, a Handy that I used to work on my Road King and now a Direct again. My Faroese was probably the Handy but in reality it's whatever I have at the time that facilitates my hobby.

About 7.5". If you are anything near 8" I would not do it.

I think manual pumping is working too, you are not going up and down so many times a day I Think ;-)

Been telling myself to get a lift for years and finally got it together a few months ago.
Shamelessly nicked the extension idea from ones I'd seen on here and elsewhere, but with a slight difference, dictated by the way the table-top is folded. Not quite the same as HF, but it's essentially the same lift overall.

I finally broke down and got one of these from Princess Auto when they were on sale. Slightly smaller version of the HF lift at 800 lbs rating. Only problem is that it's about an inch too narrow for my Pitbull single sided swingarm stand.

Looking at an HF lift for my motos. Most of mine are under the 500lbs mark. I like the side extensions idea as I do a lot of lawn and garden equipment work too.

I routinely lifted my 700lbs Goldwing on my Princess Auto lift (which is the equivalent to your HF) with zero issues. And the table does get used for lots of other things - I welded my welding table on it - so I didn't have to weld while laying on the floor.

Here is my new Handy SAM2 motorcycle lift that I purchased over this past summer. I've had the original Handy lift with side plates for the past 20+ years and have loved it. I used it for all of my snowmobile and ATV repair as well as motorcycle and small engine repair but I really liked the dropout feature of the new SAM2 table, especially on these big baggers where tire/wheel removal can be tricky having the lift the bike high enough for removal. The dropout front and rear ends negate having the raise the bike up more than a couple of inches off the table.







With the addition of the new bike lift over the summer I am still keeping my original Handy lift but have it in storage for the time being. I did however sell my Direct Lift Pro Cycle as I was not impressed with it.

Personally I didn't care for the tread plate surface, I much prefer the smooth steel top like the Handy, but it was nowhere near as smooth functioning as the Handy. It had a jerking, dragging feel to it as it raised. I also had to machine a shim and install it shortly after purchasing because the lift table listed to one side as there was too much slop in the scissor assembly.

To each their own but I tolerated mine for about 10 years and it was a second lift table as I generally used my Handy as much as possible but when I get the new shop setup I used that as an excuse with my wife to sell the Pro Cycle and purchase another Handy.

I was in the market for a utv lift after selling my direct lift xlt. Ended up with a Handy B.U.L lift, I really like it. Have had rzrs and rangers on it. I like the small footprint when its not in use. Ordered through Mile X equipment and picked it up from the factory in Iowa.
