RACK??? Hell, mine are stacked at least two deep in the drawer....how you guys can keep everything all "neat & pretty" is amazing to me....I'll never have enough room in a tool box! ;)

Oh....and how your tools never show any wear..... :lol_hitti

Great Idea! You can get those by the dozens at the Salvation Army or Goodwill and you never know what else you might find that you didn't know you need.

Try a Google image search using plier rack, and a bunch of nice pictures show up (even with safe search on). Pliers aren't just for cars, jewelry and bead, orthodontists, general lab, glasses makers, various crafts like fly fishing, all have collections of pliers and a need for handy storage. Some picts below of a few types. Variation I was thinking might work for the handle in the hole board style would be two rows offset about an inch to pack in more pliers.

I may give you guys a hard time, but I have to say, you have some great looking sets!

My only question, if you use some type of wire stand to hold pliers, don't you then need a "deep" drawer to put them in???

And THAT is where the problem starts! Deep drawers are at a Premium with my tool box! Those darn large socket sets eat up most of my deep drawer space.

I almost had some issues putting locking pliers on the side like that. When they spring open they may block the opening or closing of the drawer.

Does Kmart down there sell Craftsman tools?

no all they sell is **** lol prob the main brand that people buy over here are sidchrome ,kincrome stanley bahco which is made in china calibre which is made in tiwan trojan ,made in china thos iv had mine for years and never had any problems btw have you herd of bgs tools mad in germany, ?

Here is the rack I made from closet shelving. I bent the shelving by clamping it between two, 2x4's. It works great for larger pliers, but the smaller ones need narrower gaps in the wire.

As it sits in the drawer.

I found a chunk of wire rack of some kind that required no modification and it works great. I have more surface area available than I do drawer space, so I was able to clear a drawer so I can use it for something else. I haven't decided where to put it just yet, but I will find a spot.

I think so. As I say, I seem to have more surface area that is out of the way than I do drawer space in my tool boxes, so I'll probably keep them like they are. But, there are all kinds of variations on those wire racks, and if I find something that fits them neatly back into the drawer, I may try that too. It's just a great idea. I just like it when something can be put to a very good purpose rather than put to the dump. I'm always on the lookout for boxes and things to use for rack or hanging storage. I like to have my junk out where I can eyball it. I like it that way and your idea is perfect for it. Thanks!
