It is similar to trying your first Snapon ratchet wrench or getting a air tool for the first time; once you use it, you'll wonder how you ever worked without it! Your productivity and ease of use is so much higher then a standard screwdriver! Try it, you'll like it!

Recent Ebay score... Bridgeport right angle attachment. It is used to turn a vertical milling machine into a horizontal Mill of sort. The photo below shows how it is used. I'm milling a 5/16” wide slot 3/8” deep through a longer piece of steel that I clamped in a machine vise. The piece to too long to be conventionally milled in a Bridgeport. It's too tall to fit between the table and spindle. Though another possible solution would be to have clamped the piece overhanging the table with a large angle plate.

A number of years ago I picked up an Excell-O right angle attachment along with the support arm and a number of gang mill arbors. However I never got around to make a bushing so that it would fit a Bridgeport. The quill diameter on a Bridgeport is 3.375” while the Excall-O's is 5.562”. Because I can use the arbor and support with this new angle head I'll keep them. But when I get around to it, I'll Ebay the old angle head.

I won this ratchet, but I haven't received it yet. I'm worried that by posting this, I might curse myself and won't receive it.
It's a FHOF80

Edit: got the ratchet today. Didn't curse myself!

"Buy it Now" is nice to find; when the item is within your price range and no waiting around for the stupid auction to end.... as they say in the car business.. "you own it"! Glad you found a cool deal; you've been scoring pretty well lately! By the way, now that you are getting all of these locking extensions; you should start a new thread and do a mini review of them.... I'm still looking for a 11/12" one to change the plugs in my 1.8T, I'm a cheapskate so I may never find them at this rate! LOL! :)

I'm pretty pleased with that, i've been looking for one for ages and this is the first i've seen for sale. In fact, the only other ones i've seen reside in Merkava's toolbox. I was willing to pay a lot more than $20 for one.. Can't argue with the price. :)

Why do you want a locking extension for the 1.8T? I use a normal/universal spark plug socket on a standard 8/11" extension for plugs on Chain-in-head engines like yours and have never had a problem. :)

Once I am putting the plug in, I always seem to have the socket "stick" to the plug and then the extension comes off the socket; the spark plug socket is stuck "down there" in the head! I'm sure I could probably put some WD40 on the "rubber ducky" inside the socket but I thought a locking extension would be a good solution! I actually bought a set at Sears, Craftsman brand but the lock/unlock "button" is plastic; I just got nauseated when I saw that.... while they did the job, I had visions of the button breaking off and the socket being stuck on there.... LOL! I returned the set after I got the tune-up done on my Beetle (spark plug changes are every 40k so it will be awhile before the next change, I have about 46k right now) and figured out would keep my eyes out for a better solution; then I saw the Snap-On extensions and figured I would love to have some Snap-On goodness..... :) I have a feeling I am going to have a hard time finding these used or a good deal on ebay! LOL!

Scored these big boys for a $100 last week. They were just to good of a deal to pass up in these hard to find sizes and condition. I will probably only put the 41 and 46 to use but these get me real close to having a full 3/4 drive SO 12pt chrome metric set. Just need to score the 38mm. Its taken two years but now have 22, 24, 27, 30, 36, 41, 46, 50 and 55.

I got real lucky as the seller said he would combine shipping so I got all four shipped for $15 total. They are HUGE! :bounce:

I've been using my 3/4 stuff for wheel bearing hub/axle nuts. 27, 30, 36 and 46 are common on some old BMWs that some friends and I own.

I've had the ones with the plastic buttom for years. I use it mostly just for that... changing plugs. And I've never has an issue with it.

Magnetic pickup tool
d9a9_1.jpg

Really like that Magnetic pickup tool Brookesy.

My last ebay purchase a couple of months back, advertised as an Old Craftsman 1/2" Drive Socket Set with Case. Didn't give much for it, kinda heavy so shipping was a big part of the price. Embossed Craftsman tag is still on top of lid, painted lettering has just worn off it. 5 of the sockets were Taiwan, a few other brands mixed with the Craftsman.

Attaboy to the first guy can post as to why I bought it :bounce: ;)

Attaboy to billymade!!!

X-Long Snap-On Ratchet, 1946 model year. Has a new ratchet kit in the head, works great! NO mention of it in the auction title or description.

$17 for it all, and I used the Ebay promotional code at the time for $10 that covered the shipping.

Did you know the other Craftsman ratchet was made by Plomb?

Cool! I already had this ratchet in the collection, but figured what the heck, especially with the Snap-On "bonus" in the deal. :)

Thought that Craftsman ratchet head was Plomb/Proto inspired, but didn't realized it dated back to the Plomb days. Looks like someone put the reversing lever 180 degrees off by mistake or preference?? The ratchet head design is like the Plomb ratchet head in my 3/4 Drive Plomb set scored years ago at a flea market:
