Nice work on the Assistent!
I have two of these at home, One of which I use for rolling out on the driveway to service cars. The other is unused in very nice condition-should sell it but collapsed takes up little room.

With those lines, that Hazet tool cart has all the look that Red Leader's Craftsman garage in Colorado would kill for !! :bounce:

If that baby would adjust vertically, depending on which shelves you wanted to use, that would be over-the-top !!

I agree, finding a cart like that now is on the bucket list ! ;)

This is making me rethink my tool box ideas now... I posted a thread earlier about upgrading my work box. I also work in aviation, assuming you do as well from the pic. Do you have a bigger, main box as well? I am a structures tech, so I could fit most of my tools in a cart set up like that with some of the thinner drawers. I'm really liking that set up!! I would possibly add on a locker as well just for my PPE and manuals to go in.

Do you have your tools shadowed in the cart or planning to?

Plyworx Pliers Rack that you can get online or off the tool guys. I forget who I got it from, but I'm glad I did.

This cart was used and got on trade, since then I had another guy in the shop partially drop a car on the open drawer and another guy tip it over, which caused the drawers to open and most of my tools to go flying. It needs some new slides and casters really, but the way I worked the trade I got more space and made a few bucks so I can't complain, and it still works better than my old cheap cart it replaced.

Later modified. The cart has been dedicated to about a dozen metric combo wrenches, mostly other generic hand tools and the drive tools in all sizes. The sockets and sae wrenches are on rotator racks as are the pliers and screw/nut drivers.

There is no more I can do to it to make it any better. ha I can reach the drive stuff from either bay though. I really rarely have to move the tool carts.

The one on the other side of the shop is a cman I bought used 20 yrs ago for 75. Its a sturdy ****** but worn out and drawers were never nothing to write about not helped by overloading. I need to do one more revamp strip out or treat myself to another box and retire this one. Only reason I don't it that it wont make or save me any money, I really cant do it cheaper and better than I do now.

I think this is the latest, stripped a bunch of stuff off I didn't routinely use.I took off about 50 sockets and same for screwdrivers and pliers.

Lasted about a week with the cornwell cart and got me a snap on krsc246
So much nicer, I'll be taking the cornwell home.
Its a heavy cart with all my tools in it but once it gets moving its not so hard.
4 Swivel casters are a definite plus.
I'll be taking pictures of the drawers tomorrow. Its definitely taller than I expected.

This is random but is that maxxair fan any good? Reviews are all over the place, some say they're really loud? Need one for my shop and they re available locally.

Congrats on the snap on, those are sweet carts.

Here's an update on mine, after living in the shop for a while...

Ratchets, breaker bars, chrome sockets, extensions, adapters, screwdrivers

Hammers, picks, punches, chisels, test light, jumper wire, tape measure, misc stuff.

Pliers, cutters, strippers and crimpers, adjustable wrenches

Combos, Stubby wrenches, SAE flare nut wrenches

Everything impact, air ratchets, CAT strap wrench socket

Side box with prybars, picks, larger screwdrivers, extensions, and slide hammer

The bottom is also loaded down with stuff, including my torque wrench, bottles and cans, funnels, bag of rags, and some misc working AC parts people wanted replaced. It's weighed down pretty good, but still holds solid. Some of the drops and potholes at the shop make me nervous though...

Hey 1ZlowZ, did it cost any extra to change your drawer config around?? I wanna just replace two 4" drawers with two pairs of 2" drawers if I get this "cart".

Talked to the Snap On guy today about the cart and changing the drawers around, he said just over $100 per 2" drawer, so doing four drawers like I wanted will raise the price around $450 :( and then I'm stuck with two extra 4" drawers. Guess I could buy slides for them and incorporate them into a workbench at home. Still rather just replace and not keep the extras.

So with only two 2" drawers replaced it came out to around $1450 with tax and after discount. Hard to decide now.

You could check out the new JSC770 if you have a Matco rep. The price includes customizable drawer layouts from 1.66" 4" and 8" choices. Size wise its essentially a deeper KRSC46.

Also comes with the same color options as their 6 series boxes....in other words a lot of choices.

I believe you aren't thinking of the same cart. His cart comes the way he has it. He has the KRSC246 which is 36" wide x 24" deep. Runs for $2,295 on SO's site. If your dealer is willing to give it to you with more drawers for that price you need to hurry up and get it! I own a krsc46 and bought two 2" drawers (a few months after i bought it) for almost $200 a piece. I think your snap on guy is quoting you a krsc46 box already assembled with the 2" drawers. You might want to ask bcleen (white krsc46) because, I know he purchased his custom. I'm really not sure if they give you the left over drawers or not. But either way $1450 for a krsc46 is a great price after tax and, that's a good price even without the 2" drawers!

Yea I know that is a good price. I'm just a poor apprentice though so I'm real cheap. I searched the SO website for the KRSC246 but didn't find anything. The KRSC46 is big enough for me anyways as a main tool box.

He said I buy the cart and it comes that way then you have the options of buying extra drawers to change out. He said something about that if people could choose their drawer arrangement everyone would be doing it and there'd be a warehouse full of unwanted drawers...

So if I go through with it I'll have the cart with two 2" drawers and a spare 4" sitting around. I could order another set of slides and mount that drawer under my workbench at home though.

Well this is my first post I figured I would get in on the tool cart show. It is yet another Harbor Freight 4 drawer cart. I am part of a 24 Hours of Lemons race team and this is our "Pit box". I have really enjoyed looking at all the modifications people have done and plan to add a pry bar holder, spray can holder, and latex glove holder.

That's how this roll cart came.
Its the krsc246, its narrower but deeper than the 46, drawer layout is different too. Larger casters also.

I got this Blue -Point used for an afternoon of side work, so basically free. It sat in the corner at my house and held my "home tools" for a couple of years...and I loved using that way, but I ended up having to move to the town I work in, so I just took it to work. I wasnt sure about the black, but ive had it at work for about a year and a half, and its really grown on me. The four swivel casters rock! We move around a LOT, in and outside the shop. Im really impressed with this cart, and the casters. cart.jpg
