I got this Blue -Point used for an afternoon of side work, so basically free. It sat in the corner at my house and held my "home tools" for a couple of years...and I loved using that way, but I ended up having to move to the town I work in, so I just took it to work. I wasnt sure about the black, but ive had it at work for about a year and a half, and its really grown on me. The four swivel casters rock! We move around a LOT, in and outside the shop. Im really impressed with this cart, and the casters. cart.jpg

New, the BP service carts were way overpriced.

Used, they are built like a tank and you can always get parts.

BTW, you can put the current barrel style KRL locks on those things as well (that style lock is also what comes on the current high end SO carts).
I had my dealer put one on mine. Just need to slightly bend the locking "J" swing up arm/hook that grabs the lid catch as the Chinese moved it about 1/8" to a 1/4" to the front on the BP carts. Same hook though and same catch in the lid .

Works just fine, but the lock is far beefier and better than the OEM BP lock and you get the nifty SO flank drive wrench head keys that come with it.
Security AND style. Win -win!!!!!

Fresh off the truck. Been looking at all the awesome carts in this thread and finally got one. Also a HF 4 drawer for what little tools I have left at home.

Here's my shop cart, it started life as a Microfiche machine stand I think.
The company I worked for pushed out the back door and I spotted it before
it made it to the dumpster

I mounted a wall mount workmate on the side of it and I store tools kits
in it's lower areas, it comes in really handy.

I guess this qualifies as a tool cart. The Mac roll around is about 30 yeas old and the drawers are still smooth and the locks still work. I also hare two of what someone called the Mother Ship The stainless 6 foot tall double boxes, with 40 years of tools and junk.

The Tool board is 3/4 inch MDF and the actual holders are held on with "french cleats" Took all day then some to build. I still need to add a metric socket holder.

The second picture is my 47 Ford Sedan frame on the lift. with Corvette front suspension and an Explorer 8.8 trac-lock rear.

I love my HF cart! Wish it was big enough to use at work, it's way sturdier than my Husky box right now.

here is my toter. couldnt imagine work with out it.

I've been thinking about picking up one of those, or a drawer-less one after I have a better toolbox setup (not ancient CM 26" stackers). One of the old timers at my work has been around so long, any job that comes up he knows what tools to load up, and just walks over with his little cart and gets it done (and has a workspace too).

yea i would definitely recommend a toter to any tech thinking about it. the black bar in the back is a magnet bar i bolted to it. i put my loose sockets/bits/etc. on that so i dont loose them. i also like the fact that my tool box isnt cluttered with tools so it gives me a good workspace too. definitely some of the best money spent as a technician.

also you dont need a big toolbox for a toter (unless money is an issue which i understand). but i use my toter even for just oil changes. really is great.

edit: i would get at least one drawer personally. i keep brake grease, anti seize, cotter pins, hose clamps, sand paper, all sorts of random stuff i might need in that drawer.

My Harbor Freight Cart at work. It works just as good as any higher priced cart.

I AGREE, i have 2 of these, bought for 170$ each, 1 i use as a general service/daily use tool cart, the other is my electrical diag cart, it's filled w/ everything for electrical work.

i don't get when/how a 7-10 drawer rolling box for $1000+ became a "cart".
one guy at work just bought a mac cart for $740!! on "sale" lol, it only has 3 drawers.

Yeah 92tegra looks like you are doing it right. Looks like your buying good tools that aren't from a tool truck. Which is what I'm trying to do.

New addition to my garage this weekend. Mac Macsimizer MB1305. It took some time to get it this clean but not bad for a $500 craigslist score (still grinning). Here are some pics i snapped with my cell phone after cleaning.

Need to get a better picture, but I took a cart from work that was headed for the scrap pile, put a 4 Drawer Waterloo Trax intermediate on the mid shelf and doubled up and bolted 3/4" plywood for a top. Need to do some more modifications and post some more pics.

it was perfectly good - actually it was a return from a tradeshow that was midwinter and it had gotten repacked in a large crate with several cases of soda that were used for display props in the booth....seems a couple days in a trailer froze/exploded them and covered it in a thick goo. I bought for scrap and spent a couple hours cleaning: new shop cart!

Nerd ****!
I've got the same plastic cart sitting in front of me. Nothing exciting, but it sure beats carrying PCs around the office and shop.

Started out first 6 months with this.. Free from my boss.

Then I got this.. For I think $99

Then found this at HomeDepot on Special Buy earlier this year in January.. $250 I think.. One of my favourite purchase, a very well thought out design. Big enough to carry of all my daily tools, my main box at the back was semi-retired.

Upgraded to a SnapOn KRA2422 this July, ditched the Husky cart (getting too cumbersome to move around) and Mastercraft box. Was looking for a light duty service cart, inquired about the BluePoint BLPUHST tray and my driver ended up selling me this.. SnapOn SOSTPC, 125lb load capacity (25lb drawer), $389. It wasn't even listed on the catalog/website, and when you punch in the SKU there's 0 on hand according to the SnapOn website! So does this mean I'm the first person to own one??

Wow, I really like the layout of that cart. Something like that would work much better even as a regular box for me instead of, as my co-worker put it, "Grandpa's old farm box."

EDIT: Any chance anyone knows the PN? Can't find one browsing the HD site.

I loved that box too. The drawers are 22x16 if I remember correctly. The side cabs can hold 24" long tools vertically, along with spray bottles. The casters are like 4" tall, rubber guards on the bottom, cheapo plastic top that breaks easily, hinge style drawer locks, and 50lb ball bearing slides (too bad it was riveted). I had the top drawers storing wrenches, pliers and screwdrivers. The bottom four deep drawers were perfect for sockets, power tools, scan tools etc etc.

I'd still use it if it weren't for my boss ruining one of my drawers by lowering a car onto it. :/

Just upgraded my Mac cart by adding on the 3 drawer lower section. Freed up a lot of space in my main box. Ill get some drawer pics shortly.

Sent from my Toilet using Modern Plumbing.
