Since there is a lets see your toolbox thread and everyone pretty much has a tool box. I figured for some of us that also have tool carts for work we should post ours too.

Do you have any pictures of that cart looking down in the top of it? It looks remarkable similiar to my blue point cart which came in a made in china box.

HF unit. Good quality item! I did not need it but for about $71 I had to get one. The best thing about it was that it gace me something to do with the pile of quality tools I had too many of. Beats them lying in a box or selling them for pennies on the dollar.
I like the design of my orange Kennedy (now used as a wall unit) better, but the HF is just as much of a quality item.

This is my cart. It's a Harbor Freight three shelfer with the center shelf removed and a Craftsman 4 drawer mid box installed. I added a piece of 3/4 plywood to the base for additional strength and installed better/wider wheels.

I dunno....bored of it a little. I would like a differetn color. I am liking green and yellow.

I am thinking about the Matco MSC12, I am going to ask Daveblank some questions about it. I am also thinking about the Mac mb1300uc. I can get a good deal on the Mac, but the Matco is cheaper from the getgo.

I love Snap On boxes but the carts I'm not a fan of. At least in the pictures. I'd like to see one up close to really decide though.

Anybody have any ideas?

Deafautotech,

Can you post a pic of your MSC12? A local friend has one that he works out of all the time and says it's great. He has all the draws though. I'm not sure what I want really. What is the warranty on the carts?

The mb1300 that I have is rock solid. It rolls very smooth and nice even loaded up with tools and a couple of truck batteries on the bottom. Once I got this cart, it started cart wars at the shop I work at and all the people that went off and got the big matco, cornwell, and snap on bits are starting to regret it because they just don't seem to be holding up very well compared to the mac. The big cornwell casters are garbage and have already started bending and the matcos drawer slides are broken already, and all but the mac sound like they are rattling apart while being pushed around the shop.

sure. i work a lot on my MSC12 as better top slide area as more rooms than MAC's... even drawers can hold 140 lbs while mac hold 100 lbs...

the MSC12 has casters that came from Serie 4 toolboxes. so it is rolling so smooth! MSC11 are small casters... i am glad that i bought MSC12 for 350 dollars cash!

i will take a new pictures of my msc12 on monday. ok

Just bought a new matco rollcab 6328RX and it came with a free msc4 cart they got some kidna promo right now.

Box is so big, didnt really need the cart so sold it for $500 to a coworker. Got the composite mac one with lid is good enough for me. Toolboxes can be pretty and shiny, but to me a service cart is WAY too abused to be polished and nice. One set of f350 ball joints and that thing will be shot.

In hindsight i should have just brought it home, but whatever.

They sell for $700 from matco new

I have the same cart and want to replace the casters, or at least replace the two fixed casters. Did you have to redrill the bottom shelf, or were you able to find casters that fit the hole pattern?

I might have found some that fit without drilling, but they cost as much as the cart itself!

Heres my service cart, a crappy little jobmate box but I plan on customizing it like mad one day.

IMG_2381.jpg

Heres one of my custom repair jobs. The box tipped over but before it hit the ground I grabbed the lid and messed up the hinge so the lid would fall back and hit the back of the box.

Right now I use it for ammo storage extra tools and vintage tools.

Ammo storage, eh? How hard is it to get a gun in Canada?

As far as you are concened I dont have any :ninja:

Just kidding

In Canada they class firearms in 3 catagories restricted handguns and assult type rifles (ex: Ar-15's) and Non restriced (rifles/shotguns) and Prohibited with consist of handguns with barrles shorter then 105mm any firearms that fire .25 or .32cal ammo or are fully automatic you can not modify your shotguns/rifles and or saw the barrles down.

they only issue a licence for restricted and non restricted.

You have to take a full day course with a written exam then come back for a pratical exam to obtain a licence for non restricted and restricted for restricted firearms they do a complete background check in every provence before giving you the licence.

I could go on......

Firearms owners in Canada have to put up with alot of ****!

Current cart's the snap-on 3-drawer but I was wanting to trade it in on one of the ones with the drawers all the way down like someone else posted earlier in this thread.

I have a 2-shelf cheapie that I mounted flourescent fixtures to. This gives me more might from the side from body work, painting, polsihing and even engine work (engine out).

Deafautotech,
Thanks. I appreciate it. I am very interested in the MSC12.

I saw the pic with the lights and my first thought was "that's a great idea". Those lights will throw some serious light out and I bet makes polishing a breeze to see swirls.

msc4ti.jpg

That's the same one I have.

Joe

Joe,
I don't like the design of thye top. I love Snap on's latch system for the drawers and would prefer to buy Snap on, but the lid design is so-so. I like the sliding to the side design as it let's me keep room to place stuff. With the lid up, I lose that space.

This is also what keeps me from moving all in on the mac mb1300uc cart.
