Got my new monster Listas finished up this morning. Including the 2 older ones pictured 1st, I'm up to 4 now. One more on my radar, but I will not order than one new -Looking for Junkyard Special on that one.

Lovely set up, was that longer Lista a custom order as I can't find that drawer config online?

The housing is their DW series 56" wide. That is not custom.

I ordered both new to my spec, so I picked the drawers I wanted, they are not quick order configurations.

They are "Mobile Cabinets" not "Toolboxes" as far as the catalog goes.

If you recall I am using the grid system for my sockets. Cool concept, ***** when you get new sockets :lol_hitti Well, I bought some new sockets. I did some reorganizing last night. Using the rails seems much easier, and I bought some cheap HF rails that I didn't mind cutting up. Turned out well.

It's expensive. If you look a page or two back I posted a link. The beginning package with two trays and miscellaneous pegs/wrench holders is about $180. I believe you can buy the boards separate now for less and then only buy what you need for pegs. I only did this because I bought the kit cheap from a pawn shop on eBay.

I finally sold my two snap on boxes and replaced them with some stationary vidmars - I painted the green one and the blue stacker but the rest are original colors. One of the snappy's was an old slide style box so it is nice to upgrade to ball bearing drawers.... And I can finally fit everything where I want it - here's a shot of my metric wrench drawer.0e665fd5d5a62a37827592eb39cffa03.jpg...

that's a very interesting setup w/ the blue staker... never seen it before.

Trey, the stacker is actually designed to be mounted under a bench. I wasn't able to obtain a taller cabinet in the first place so this fit the bill.

I have 3 of those stacks with the intermediate box... I am kinda short... I store a lot of stuff on the always open tops...

I also own a small foldable step stool.

I also own a medium foldable step stool that I need the small one to get "up to"

I will add... the other day I was changing a bulb in the door opener... using an A frame ladder... while I was up there... one comment was... while looking down into the top of the three stacks... "OH THAT'S WHERE I PUT THAT".

Your "very humble contribution" is a great looking set up.

Thank you!

Real, I've got that same set up minus the intermediate box. Any trouble seeing the open top with the intermediate in there?

Thanks
Coach

I'm 5'11" and it can get tricky sometimes. I try to keep the stuff that I dont use very much up there, ignition wrenches and hex keys.

Not a bit! you just have to be five foot sixteen inches tall!

I have white boy hops :rocker:

Pic Thread:
When I was younger I thought it was a great idea to cut out foam inserts for all of the sockets. Makes expansion difficult to say the least.
The SAE Drawer:

And the combination wrenches:

Ah ha! A New Holland guy! Lol.

I am working out of my Mac tool cart, sliding tops. What you have in that Montezuma is what I have in three drawers and the top deep portion. That really is a slick tool chest. You’ve got me thinking. That would be wicked for throwing in the service truck, covers 90% of tools you need most times. I spend more time at my 72” main box on the computer than I do picking tools. Maybe a montezuma too chest on top of a slightly different cart is in my future.

Where do you work? I'm on my way?

Boepeep, would you be able to post a few more pictures of the Montezuma please? I'm really considering getting one. I'm guessing that the socket pegs are metal? The bottom row of sockets lifts up correct? For more storage. Just want as much info as I can get before I get one. Thanks.

I have the following 30" Extreme variant of these and it's a nicer layout- at least for what I do. I took out the power tool holder and just stack my 18v light and impact in there. The power outlets are pretty pointless too- they will probably come out soon as I never use them. Bopeep's setup is nice I just wouldn't need that much socket space. Point is, check out what Extreme has if you want more layout options. I'll get some pics of "my" stuff at work tomorrow.

Home Depot was clearancing them out for ~250 and I grabbed one that work ended up buying since I bought it to hold all of their tools anyway. (thank god -wife would have been pissed)

Any of you guys bought stuff from Alibaba. I'm looking at a 72" box with hutch and it states $1,025.00 for the price. I know I'll pay a lot in shipping but don't know how much or if its worth it. It looks like the same box from strictly toolboxes.

If I'm not supposed to use links to outside websites let me know and I'll remove it.

What do you guys think is this a good idea or not.

At a towering 5'6", I have 2 base cabinets that I use as bench tops. No sense in getting a top chest that I can't see into

If that cost plus shipping is anywhere close to the ST cost I'd go with them. if there is an issue with the box as delivered, who will do anything about it?

I'm 5'6 3/4"... it makes all the difference... top chests are easy... it's when you add that intermediate... means my eye is exactly the height of the lock cylinder on the top chest... even on tippy toes... can't see above the horizon of the front edge of the top. It's all "reach over" territory... or break out the step stools.

Short ***** in several ways.

My tallest stack is my Kennedy stack. older 8 drawer roller 2 drawer intermediate and a 6 drawer top. not too tall for me at 5-7.

Ive had the top and intermediate since I replaced the 70s Craftsman 10 drawer with them as my track boxes. taking the bigger 10 drawer to the track was impossible for two strong men to move without removing the bottom two drawer, so I went with the smaller top and 2 drawer intermediate.

For many years now my preference for a shop box has been th rollers. but the Montezuma slant front top, if I can find a roller to take a 36" version, would become my main box for sure. (Going to look at a candidate roller this AM...)

It occurs to me the Montezuma could also be used with the right intermediate, and not have the "too tall" problem...

Sam's club sells a cart with a slant top similar to the Montezuma, it's pretty nice - have you checked it out?

I’m a big fan of Alibaba for a variety of reasons, and I’ve ordered from them from AliExpress. However, I’ve never ordered anything that big.

*my last order was 8 key ring clips, all made out of metal, delivered to my door for $1.30. Gotta love Chinese subsidized shipping. lol.

With shipping to NYC, it came out to about $1500 total. STB sells that unit for $3800. For the $2300 difference, I'd live with a few dings or scratches if I were in the market for an offshore toolbox.

No ****?? Last night when I clicked on that link it also lead me to some other types of cabinets I'd luv to have. So for you guys that have gone this route how does it work. Toss your deposit in the ring and hope for the best or is it easier then that?? Thanks.
