Usually I am making stuff for customers and getting by with whatever I knock together for myself. I was going to just go plywood but decided I will have these for the rest of my life spend a little more time and make them nice.

Finally got my tools organized over the last couple months, but my metric+ drawer has me pretty psyched. So nice to work out of this one go-to drawer. Pliers, screwdrivers and cordless tools right below this one covers me at least 90% of the time. Second photo from a few years ago from when I was first getting set up.

You chose wisely! If you’re going to do it.... those are spectacular. I think you should have “Crafted By...” badges made up of brass or nickel to attach to those awesome boxes.

Well those are the kind of thing I come to sites like this to see. Congrats on some fantastic work. I wasn't kidding about the thread - would love to hear the story on the wood, the design, how the build went, etc.

I also agree that it would be cool to put your mark on them somehow. In 2261 when the aliens are sifting through the wreckage, one of them will find your tool chest and say "Hey (*$#^@, check this out - some dude in the 21st century was still making awesome stuff by hand!"

What is the consensus on the Mac MB1500?
I am picking this one up to use at home. Crappy pic, It is very clean, circa 1989-1990.
I know the full-width drawer on the bottom is goofy. I don't mind. It does have ball bearing slides. 51" wide and 24" deep.
