A few drawer pics. No pics from the orange box. Mostly just power tools and consumables. 0FD8A238-3422-48CB-972C-890CC8D012E5.jpeg

I had that exact Snap-on box at work for many years Scott. I added a half side box as well and now my son has it in his home garage and continues to use it.
It is a very nice box Mike. I screwed up removing the top sticker though and realized quickly that goof off Removed paint🤬 I already ordered some touch up paint from EBay. What do you recommend or suggest for use on the slides?

On the roller slides I used ZEP 2000. It is an aerosol grease that thickens once sprayed. A little goes a long ways though so don't over-apply. I have also used Tri-Flow with great results on other drawer slides, it is a bit lighter and more of a synthetic lubricant with some teflon in it.

A while back I was getting frustrated looking for things crammed into my larger box so bought a HF cart. I love this thing. I keep the tools I need for working on our 4 cars and truck (similar platform) in it and I can put it close to where I’m working. Also have room now to organize the KRL so I can find the less used tools again too.

@Maxcustody , Scott, your FIL would be proud of what you've done with his tools. As I browsed over your pictures I couldn't help but to think about their history and the lifetime it took to create such a collection of tools in order to perform his job responsibilities. I have great respect for a career mechanic who doesn't shirk the huge responsibility of putting back into one's career by purchasing tools as needed.

I noticed I have many of the same tools and as you know tools have a tendency to evolve over the years even from the same vendor/manufacturer and what I noticed is that I have many from the exact same era based on handles and design. Those transmission snap ring pliers jumped out at me as I've had mine for close to 30 years now and even the Snap-on bronze hammer is exactly like mine that had the handle break last year. That had to have been purchased close to 30+ years ago as well. All show signs of heavy use but not abuse which also speaks to me and tells a story of the owner.

I hope that you will treasure those tools and your FIL's memory by continuing to use them.

@zmotorsports Thank you Mike! I fully intend to grab any tools needed out of this box first. It is also nice to see all USA made tools. Just a list I made from the wrenches alone:

Snap-on
Craftsman
Indestro
New Britain
Bonney
Barcalo-Buffalo
Cornwell
Williams
SK Waynes
P&C
Walter
Proto
Hazet
Penens
MAC
Vlcheck

Excuse the mess lol 😂. My home toolboxes. If dad wasn’t always trying to “clean” it would not be such a mess lol. He just moves stuff from one spot to another cause he won’t part with anything. I won’t part with my tools but I’ll part with a 30 year old cardboard box lol 😂. I had to put my foot down about him putting **** in my toolbox though that’s a big no. Toolbox is not a place for trash, money or anything else we find in the basement it has to be a tool lol. I’ll try and post my work ones tonight if I remember to take pictures after lunch haha.

@MWEric

Bud your wrench drawer is very clean but it killed me to see those poor strewn about stahlwille deep offset DBE's without a nice tidy home to live in.

Here's what I did with mine. I'm pretty sure the rack was a throwaway from a set of ratchet wrenches I bought.

They’re stahlwille 12 point. And I’ve never had an issue. But the only ones that get used a lot are the 10, 18 & 21. I’ll also add hex fitment is excellent with little to zero slop.

Current toolbox status after having it for about 3 months.

Been experimenting with different off-the-shelf tool storage solutions. I could definitely get better storage density with something custom (particularly in the wrench and socket drawers), but for now this will do. The bottom drawer of corded power tools will eventually be freed up when I build some storage workbenches along the back wall of the shop.

Where did you order your Lista from? I need 5 or maybe even 10 more feet this fall.

I ordered mine from the Quickship website which doesn't exist anymore. Detailed the experience in this thread
Glad that it all worked out for you in the end.
I really like the modular layout of the drawers and would definitely consider something like that if I was to ever get a new box.
Enjoy what seems to be your dream box albeit not quite big enough.

I’ve been lurking on this thread for a decade. Just a home hotrod wrench turning tool junkie. Lol. I bought my USG 56” 4/12. I believe it had just come out at that point. It’s been 100% flawless. Added the 14” side box 4 years ago. Also have a 26” USG top on the shelving unit. I want a deeper 72” but I’m dreading the swap over. 😆. Here are a few pics.
