those are Toolbox Widgets. Expensive but I like how they work for sockets. The extension bits are on some Tekton socket strips. What sort of gadgets are you using for the organizing there? That looks amazing!

This is beautiful. Great box!! I bought the Masterforce box from Menards (also made by Quality Craft) and my local auto shop color matched the handles from this after Montezuma sent me one. I'll be re-painting the green handles when the weather gets closer to 50-60 degrees. Should look amazing when done.

It was thread that got me to test about the Toolbox Widgets for my screw drivers and not having to hear my screw drivers roll around is so nice! I may have opened and closed the drawer a couple times just to bask in the quiet. Also the magnet are strong enough to work through drawer liners if that was something you were concerned about.![]()
Haven't seen Toyota branded Vessels before.
You asked me about them when I posted the Toyota Vessel branded nut drivers.
I know you were sour on jp-carparts.com but you can get the screwdrivers from them too.
I didn't end up ordering these from a traditional parts vendor. ASR has them in kits. They have some other special Toyota tools specific to Land Cruisers if that is your jam as well.Bad Mojo, I like them too. Can not find them on the site - do you remember part numbers or how you found them?

tried that and they don't fit quite right in the drawer due to lengths.I think I'd have to move the 1/4" Extensions next to the 1/4 rats, same for 3/8 and 1/2. might be just me, though.

Kobalt - I stripped all the vivid-blue labels off...What magnet bar is that?

A warning - they are strong. Like - they'll injure you if you have two of them close together and they suddenly come together with something you value in the way. Seriously - be thoughtful when handling them.....
Just searched, and they apparently still sell it: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-Steel-12-in-Tool-Bar-Magnetic-Accessory/1000266015I had two Vim Magrails bite a finger like that. I didn't like them prior to that, the magnet was too strong for me, and they were going to eventually go, but that blood blister called for immediate replacement.
I'll have to look at that Kobalt magnet strip. I bought a generic kitchen style strip off Amazon and it wasn't too impressive. Yes, it's impossible to pry off the toolbox without the felt I put on the back, but the pull on the front was more for a set of knives than even a long blow gun.
I watched this entire video the other night (yes, I need a life) and thought of this thread.
Tool box tour starts at 31:10.

Impressive collection. Watch it at 2X speed. The organization is odd with all sorts of stuff like ratchets spread across multiple drawers in multiple boxes across 20 linear feet. I get that he has purchased acres of storage space, but there's all sorts of stuff that doesn't need to be stored in a home box: gloves, c-clamps, ratcheting straps....
I mean, you don't really need audio to figure out that dude hasn't used quite a bit of it.If you watch it in 1x with audio he often says, “haven’t used it” quite a lot.

Isn't the plier rack an amazing doodad? I was so surprised of how much better I can access my pliers as they're not all stacked on top of each other and the one I need always seems to be at least 3 down.
When you guys get new tools do you just toss the plastic cases they came in?
I do, wouldn't ever use them for day to day use... my mobile tools are in bags that waste less space in the back of the JeepWhen you guys get new tools do you just toss the plastic cases they came in?
unless it's something I'm going to keep in the case, yes. I've got some kits (pullers, radiator pressure tester, tube flaring, ...) that I keep in the case, because it's easier to keep everything together that way. I keep them on shelves, not in a toolbox, so space wasted by the case is less of an issue. Most other cases are thrown away, and tools put in the appropriate spot in a tool box. I do have one socket set in its blowmolded case, because it's pretty much a full set, and it's easy to grab it and be sure I've got the socket I need when going on the road. When you guys get new tools do you just toss the plastic cases they came in?

Kinda of like the tote of cables I might need someday or the scrap wood I have laying aroundI keep them.
I keep front end service sets and the likes in the cases. And I even keep the empty cases (from which I remove tools) thinking one day I’ll need them.
I’ve never needed them. But I still keep them. Because I’m an idiot like that.
I just keep cases with ball joint/brake/front end service/bearing press etc. on shelves in a cabinet, not in a tool box. Tool box space is expensive, lockable wall cabinet space is not.
