An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
I bet he is still living at home with his parents, I did until I was 22 and can report that my two Matco MB910/920 combos were sitting in the garage as that the 3 Craftsman 12 drawer deep tool chest and 12 drawer roller cabinet were moved into my room as that my parents didn't want my toolboxes all over the house. Matter of fact I still have all of those tools and have added another 12 roller cabinets and 26 chests (including 11 Gerstners & 14 Kennedys).

Give him a break, everyone's got to start somewhere.

Not counting the Table Saw, Circular saw, sander the box totaled out just over 1600 dollars. I can't remember the name of the slides but they are built in the USA and special order through Lowes. The box was more expensive to build than I fist thought. Now that I'm using it I have no regrets in selling my Macsimizer and building this one. I absolutly love it. I have quite a few technician friends that want me to build them one on a smaller scale. I may enlist the help of one of my sons and start knocking a few out. I've had quite a few offers to sell this one so far. One of my Friends who onws a shop down in Myrtle Beach was here yesterday for our Labor Day cookout really wanted it. His words were :Id roll that thing up in my shop and tell everyone to kiss my ***"

Picked this and a few wrenches up from CL. I'm guessing the Z28 sticker is good for at least 35HP.

It was for the Type 1 Beetle, made by Hazet and available from VW dealers as accessory. That was up to 1970.

Hazet also made one available but with the Hazet logo, same kit.

Rgrds

I have a late 50's Hazet Tourist and a later VW one with plastic handles. I have always thought they were the neatest tool kits ever. They fit on the spare tire in the trunk like a hubcap. I here the Porsche guys pay big $ for the non VW ones.

Very similar to the kit that came in the early 70's BMWs, attached to the trunk lid. But by then, the Hazet screwdrivers had plastic handles. Since they were nice enough to make virtually every bolt on these cars 10,13,17, or 19mm, you could practically disassemble the entire car with these kits.

This is my stack, taken a few years ago so theres more stickers now. Bottom cab is a Halfords Pro, top one is a Clarke HD Pro and the little one on top is my socket set from Costco. Theres a nother box like the socket set one that has all my bodywork tools, hammers and dollies etc in. You can just about see it under the drill press in the cupboard in the second picture. That steel cupboard will be getting some extra shelves in soon to hold all of my power tools as its bolted to the wall and locks so its pretty theft proof.

Really nice layout on that cart oldschool

My USAG 530 and 646. Since the pictures were taken I have transferred some tools over to a Stanley FatMax tote tool bag I bought yesterday. Needed something lighter to carry the most often used tools. The FatMax fits that need perfectly. I'm debating whether to buy another FatMax for my DIY carpenter tools or use the current one for those and buy a Facom BS.T20 Probag. :headscrat

im liking the usag top chest.......

my tool trolley "above"....is a bit over loaded,it has been modified with some extra racks for the allan keys, screwdrivers, torxdrivers etc..but just like the ease of being able to grab stuff...and because there is only me and my old man in the workshop dont have to worry to much about locking them all up.....

any recommendations for something a bit bigger, but that has the same sort of set-up would be appreciated...

My Stanley FatMax tote tool bag which I bought a couple of days ago. NOK399. This is perfect for carrying around for smaller DIY stuff. Low weight, everything in plain sight, room inside for nuts and bolts and smaller parts that you're working on, easy to move around... Never thought I'd buy anything but an all metal tool box but I gotta love this one.
Will probably replace it with a Facom Probag though as that one has a cover and a little different layout, and use this one for carpenter tools.

Thank you Sire. I will add a 1/4" set, a set of Facom 440 wrenches, some cleaner and lubricant and some small prybars. And probably some other tools that I can't think of right now, lol.
And some wire and duct tape to go MacGyver when I need to save the world of course.

Here is my little craftsman toolbox that my dad started out on, he gave it to me. I added the mac sidebox, and had the stainless steel top custom made. I also attended wyotech about 6 years ago, and these are my tools. I since joined the Army a year and a half ago, so they haven't seen much use, but I just bought a home with a 2 car garage so they should be put to work soon! As you can see, its pretty much time for a new box, I'm afraid my socket drawer will break if I put much more in it. My goal was to fill the box to the brim before buying a new box, its just about there. I really like the new snap on epic with power bay, thoughts?

I just bought some hansen socket holders the 6 peice set, but I think they take more room then how I had my socket drawer in the first place. Any opinions on a better way to organize any part of my box? I think i might like the blue point plastic magnetic socket holders better, I like the idea of taking the whole set out of my box if I need it unlike how I had it with the socket rails rivited to the drawer. Well sorry to ramble on, its my first post and here are some pics. These were for insurance purposes.

It's amazing how much those Kennedy boxes look like Beach boxes. They're only difference is the style of handle.
