I bought my first snap on box at the weekend after upgrading from this:
Basically ran out of space, now ALL my tools are in the box and the workshop is tidy and mint, just the way I like it! I have wanted one of these for years (ever since I was a lad), so I feel like my life is complete now!
It's certainly not as special of some of the others on here, but I am very very happy with it. I didn't realise how stoked you can get on nice tools and a good box! Sad I know, but it's a guy thing I guess.
It was in pretty good nick overall, but the paint was lacking it's shine and it was scratched to buggery in places, so I decided to machine polish it as I had nothing to do on Sunday and it was free to do as I have all the gear already.
Trust me, once you have set eyes on a virgin shiny new one in the Snap-On Van, it makes you want to restore it to it's glory!

Anyways, a few pics. It could do with more of an aggressive cut to remove the deep scratches on the lid, but meh, it's a toolbox, and it certainly looks hella nicer than it did when I bought it. The best thing is the price - absolute bargain!
Unfortunately the pics aren't the most detailed, and there's no 50/50 shot, but you get the idea.
Here are the shots anyways.
Lid before - very dull paint and deep scratches:
In progress:
Too much polish everywhere! :buffer:
After:
Close up before and after on the lid. You can see the marks haven't gone, but I didn't want to cut too deep, more interested was I in restoring the shine and colour:
I also have a few other ideas to pimp it which I will post up when done, and i'll also get some shots of the drawers and contents this week. Need a socket rack but will try and get one tomorrow when the Snap-On van comes around £$£$£$£$ Cha ching!
Oh, and here is the reason for my need for tools - the toy!
Thanks.
