I'll try to get some more, better pictures if anyone cares to see the inside.

I was in desperate need of a food grade tool cabinet for storage.
Must be able to handle caustic, acid, and be 100% sterilized/sanatized. Free from rusting and oxidation. It is in the middle of a beverage processing plant.
Nobody in maintenance had to have a food grade tool box when I worked in a bakery. Just the usual assortment of cmans and kennedys.
Problem is, I'm not maintenance, I work for Recipe and Development. Additionally, the maintenance tool boxes / shop are detached from the "clean" areas (Clean areas are hair nets, salt mats, safety glasses, etc. just one step below a sterile room). My tool cabinet is in the middle of the processing area, I.E. the pasteurizing room of the beverages, so I had to have food grade stainless on the exterior, and I have to sanitize it once a week. Meaning, pull all the tools, foam sanitize, let it dry, put all the tools back. Additionally, cost was labor only for this unit. All the shelving and forklift trays where scrap metal.
Recipe and Development.
so do you have sanitized tools too ?? strange to me (not that i understand it) that the cabinet has to be sanitized but not the tools.

Do you make beer?![]()
Picked up this vintage Craftsman tool chest in pretty good shape today. This is after a very light cleaning and a little straightening. Pretty neat design with full front cover that folds away up above the drawers. I'm guessing this was made around 1950 -- anybody have a better idea when it was made?

Only repairs needed are to a couple of drawer slides. Anybody know if it's possible to get new ones? I'm inclined to just try to straighten the mangled ones and make them work, if possible.
Not sure whether I'm just going to clean and use it as-is, or whether I will repaint it. Would that be sacrilege, or is there enough rust on this to justify it?
Nah, much much healthier than that: Bolthouse Farms Beverages.

those are delicious. i drink them all the time![]()
