I made one from a wire CD rack, but fair warning, if you rack from the grip side you can't put padded grips in the gap, and if you rack from the business end, things with external nuts like slip joints won't fit.

Some have used wire shelving, and some have used cut down wire dish racks.

Then there are the guys that buy them factory made.

Where is the sport in that?

I deffintly see the resemblance with the dryer rack not a bad idea

Hi, those socket trays with the sizes marked on them you have, what are they?, I have the Hansen ones but these look a lower profile

They are the newer HF trays. Some people on here love them others hate. You mount the socket drive side down and bolt end up.

In my area a B level tech will do brakes, tires, suspension and steering, light diagnostics and bolt on repairs. When you start getting into involved diag, t belts, head gaskets, rebuilds, overhauls and stuff like that you're considered an A Tech. I was bumped to A level work after about 3 years at the dealer. My little brother works with me has only been in the field about two years and he is pushing out work close to A level already.

I do A-type work like timing belts, head gaskets, a lot of front end work, lot of diagnostics, brakes etc. I don't crank it out though, takes me a lot longer than some of the more seasoned guys. I don't consider myself an A tech though. Experience is the key, I just don't have enough yet.

you answered you own question about us guys buying factory made ones... i bolded it for you

**i had wire sheves, dishracks etc i jacked around with... i finally shelled out a few bucks and got 2 plierworx racks and thought about all the frustration just buying these to begin with would have saved me money over buying stuff that doest work just right and f'n around trying to find the perfect solution i would have been money ahead to just but those 'factory made' ones to begin with... No i dont have pics to show off of it

I recently picked up the US.General 56" box from HF just about 2 months ago. I was in a pinch and needed a tool box but I really didn't want to make payments and pay crazy interest for a Snap-On or MAC box. I got laid off from the dealer I had been working at where they supplied all the techs with MAC boxes. The box has been flawless til now and I don't regret buying it at all. Anyway, here are some pictures of my box and my Bluepoint service cart to the left.

This is my work tool box, sorry about the bad quality pictures, i had to take them with my phone.

Running out of room fast, im going to pick up the top box as soon as it comes on sale at Canadian tire. Just finished the 3rd year of my apprenticeship at a local dodge dealer, awaiting my exam marks! Been in the trade for 4 years and slowly working up my collection.

Very jealous of a lot of the tool boxes in this thread, im looking to EVENTUALLY get into a snap on KRL box. But all in good time.

My favourite screw drivers! snapon GREEN! and you can see half of my red handled snap on pick, another favourite tool, comes in very handy! Wish i got it in green though.

Last but not least my very handy cart! Got it on sale for 30$! Little small but does the job perfectly.

Thanks I love the color even other guys in the shop who never saw a green box say how much they like it. And when its cleaned up and waxed like it is now it really stands out.
