I just scored this last night, it's a 36'' SS Husky from Home Depot. I had been playing with it for a while and decided it would be good for my shop. I seen it was on sale for $600 and change for both. I paid $350 for the whole box set. the top box had been dropped with a tad of damage to the bottom, I fixed it some, but have a little hammer and dolly work to do and you'll never know it. Snapped a few pics a minute ago, I have a bunch of small boxes and tools scattered to get organized in their new home.

that's a good question, all the older mechanics I know, my dad, uncles and at a few shops Iworked in all sockkets were in the top, hell even my brothers are like that.

Sockets up top is a PITA unless you are 7' tall, or don't mind a stepping stool... Even at 6' I hate sockets in the top of taller setups...

I much prefer then at around crotch, to elbow level in a drawer. That is why most new boxes have a deep drawer in that area.

in all my older (smaller) boxes i used to have sockets in the top box.
after those smaller sets got taller and taller, they moved down to a more comfortable level.
when i bought my new kr550/555 sockets got moved into a large bottom drawer of the top box.
in my home boxes, sockets are in the bottom drawer of the mid box, it's the only drawer wide and tall anough to hold them standing up.
service truck box has 3/8" & 1/2" dr in the top compartment, 1/4" & 3/4" dr are stashed elsewhere in the truck

couple updated pics.

Got some more red in the pliers drawer. Loving the Knipex stuff. Planning to add more red to this drawer soon, more snap ring pliers and replacing the channel locks with cobras and the cman "professional" pliers set that I swear at all day.

Used some mag-rails to organize the extensions and other acessories so that the entire drawer can now be slammed by the "borrowers" and not have everything scattered. Need a lot more swivel sockets.

I don't have very many sockets, all of mine fit in one drawer. I use the top for spray cans of various lubricants, glues, etc.

Ok guys after wandering around this thread and admiring everyone's box, I finally figured out how to post pics of my box. I'm not a mechanic, I'm a truck driver, and just like tools and like to think I'm somewhat handy with working on my own vehicles. Its not the best stuff but I'm pretty happy and proud of what I've been able to come up with.

Aron...nice tool setup. I like seeing a set of tools that really looks like they get used and that you can tell were collected over time. As opposed to the set that look unused and bought all at once....as impressive as some of them are.

Come on guys...just posted my opinion about the Hazet Set...which I don't like >>>Torque Adapter in the 2nd drawer without the torque wrench!,...for me, everything has to be in one place...

Torque wrenches are stored on the left or right side of the trolley hanging on hooks. You only need this adapter for one special series of torque wrenches that is rather rare. This adapter is an extra add-on. So it makes no difference where it's stored.

This is my Snap on KRA 26" little tool box. In my job (Mobile Electronics) We don't need too much tools as you can see, just a lot of drivers and some cutting tools. We mostly work under the dash, trunk, and a little in the hood.

OOOOPS! You got me! It's a custom made (by me ,LOL) Snap on stubby screwdriver. Snap on doesn't make an orange stubby screwdriver (at least I can't find it) And I made my self one using a phillips stubby and a cheap ratchet screwdriver shaft. BTW, I love it.

I dont remember the Snap on tool box model ,I think is KRA series ( I bought it like 10 years ago) and its in my job right now, but is the cheap model, and it's a 26 inches wide. And yes, I relocate the drawers at my convenience. They are movable.

Here is a close up. I used a stubby SO screwdriver handle, and a cheap ratchet screwdriver (I think from Autozone or HD) for like 3 or 4 bucks. I am not cheap, it's just that I want to have a stubby that matches my hard handle screwdrivers. It's really easy to make and you are not cheating nobody. This is how you enjoy the tools some times, you have to make them.

Yes! And because Snap on still selling screwdriver replacement hard handles (Green, orange,red and black) You can build your own tools that matches your actual collection, the possibilities are endless. Maybe we open a new thread about custom tools later on.

Did some re-arranging. I believe once the race car is done, it will be time to buy a new box. My box is fairly full, i've taken up a ton of wall space, and i have a BUNCH of tools that i don't even have stored yet. (Not even counting that none of my SAE stuff is out.)

Nothing new in the other drawers, but some additions to the wall. (Not pictured, the adjustables on the other side of the box)

I really like the little Husky plier set i picked up last weekend. The HF ones are are now relegated to "loaner status."

What socket organizers are those? I haven't seen that kind before.

Harbor Freight. I actually prefer them to the Hansens, easier to read.

The downside is that some of the 1/4" posts aren't really quite the right size, you can see a couple of my deep wall sockets sitting up too high, and that's why. Not a big deal to file them down a little, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I think i paid $7 for them, but i only bought metric.

Just got my Extreme Pro toolbox last weekend. Wow! This thing is bomb-proof, and the paint is immaculate. Can't say enough good things about it or Shannon at StrictlyToolboxes. It's all waxed up and ready to go . Now if I only had time to put my tools in there....

I was on the fence between blue and black. I'm glad I chose blue. The pictures here and on the StrictlyTools website do not do it justice. The thing that swayed me over black (besides just liking blue), was something Shannon said - "When we go to trade shows, we always take the blue one."
