Lot's of sorting to do since I got my box home. The left boxes are from work that I picked up the other day. I need to spend a complete day going through each box one at a time to get things straightened out. Out in my wifes building I still have a stacked Craftsman roller and top box I need to bring down to my garage and she's going to take a couple of my Kennedy bench boxes

what brand are those boxes?

I like how the side cabinets match the drawers on the roller cabinets

boosteddsm92: 29" drawers? Damn!! I've got 18" drawers that don't open fully. I can only imagine how much nicer it is to have deep drawers like that.

jaquetapus: nice first post!! Not much Matco discussed on GJ, and none available in Canada AFAIK so I'm always interested in seeing unique-to-me things. Thanks for the pics. And the finish and colour are awesome. I never thought of a crinkle finish for a toolbox, but why not? It works for fridges to hide smears and fingerprints.

Kevin54: I've looked at those Menards boxes in North Dakota, and I was impressed. The color is unusual but interesting. I'd rather have forest green than some of the overly bright colours I"ve seen, but I like calm colours at home. I get enough visual/auditory/mental stimulation at work. I'm considering buying one of these roller cabinets for my basement woodshop, as I have my Dad's old Beach forest green tool chest that would fit perfectly on top.

I was going through the box yesterday and found quite a bit of items missing. Some not so important and other items very important. I have a very good idea who got the items but proving it is a different story. I did send an e-mail to my boss. He'll ask the people, everyone will deny it and that's as far as it will go. A friend of mine is going to keep an eye out though. I had two miniature drill chucks that I always used with my #61-#80 drill bits. Both gone along with the bit case. I had a set of matched Vee Blocks and a matched set of miniature Vee Blocks. Both miniature blocks are gone along with one of the larger of the matched set. I had a 5" Sine Bar that is no longer in the box. A couple of 12" scales missing and some other stuff I have wrote down out in the garage. I hope whatever SOB has them just happens to get hurt using them. :mad Three people that I know in the toolroom brag about how they can pick locks. Two of those people I know wouldn't pick my locks. All in all there is about $300 worth of items gone :mad::mad:

is that a picture of your garage? its also stupid about people bragging to co workers about how they can pick locks. I will admit that I once picked the lock on the door of an armored truck that we had in the shop in about 45-60 seconds with my pick gun. :lol_hitti

It ***** to have tools come up missing. How is the teeter totter looking block used?

I used it for irregular shaped parts in a mill vise. Some of the parts I machined may have a flat side and the other side might have a 2 or 3 degree angle. This would work like an angled jaw.

That makes sense, I kept visualizing it being used vertical. I use part of a bearing race for parts like that.

I purchased the bottom half of my box off a buddy years ago for $75 and I picked up the top half about 6 months ago off of craigslist for $50. It was rough but a good cleaning and lubrication of the drawers and it works as smooth as can be.

First post!
Going to school for automotive technology, spent all my money on tools and no money for a name brand box, Harbor Freight saved the day!
It fits perfectly with my schools size limitations and I would actually rank it right up there on quality with my Craftsman box, to me it even seems a bit more sturdy.

I've been wanting to pick up the same box for home/school use while looking for a used Snap On box on CL for future shop use. Damn good job organizing, although I'm a fan of SO over Matco

What wrench holders are those? (left and right) Don't like mine laying out flat, and my Craftsman holders with the handles take up way too much space in the drawer.

Welcome to the site! (from a still pretty new member :D)

Best of luck.

Thank you! The brand is SK wrench rack, picked them up pretty cheap at the back to the 50's car show in Minnesota a couple weeks ago.

Here is a pic of my setup. There was a recent thread about the side locker.. I think it might be a little too big/deep as it hangs out the front and back of my craftsmans.

I'm thinking about getting another full width intermediate drawer if I can find it on sale/cheap enough. I'm 6' 10" tall so I should still be able to see in the top.

yeah, you should then. I am 5'11 and I can barely see in the top of mine. the think I don't like about the side boxes is its too hard to move. I might switched the fixed casters to swivels.

Ok, I'll post mine. I know it's not as elaborate as some of the ones I've seen on here. But for what I do, it works for me and fit's into my budget.

Still have a long way to go to fill these up but here it is now.

HF 44" box, recent purchase. 26" standard starter craftsman box, had about 15+ years I think. A lot of open space right now, still trying to get everything sorted out. Have another Craftsman roller and Kobalt work bench that are being used for some misc stuff as well.

Sounds like you guys really like that drawer. I was thinking about getting one to put in my cabinets in place of four stupidly small ones. The width works, but I'd have to drop the cabinets about 1". Still considering it when money isn't so tight.

My Costco box. Probably 3 years old when I got it. Still had all the drawer liners on one shelf (read "never used"). Guy said he was getting a snap on box to replace it . If he didn't use this I have no idea why he'd need a better box. Picked it up for $580.

For the eagle eyed, the bottom drawer pull is on now.

img0225zs.jpg

Here is where it lives, next to my welding table and lincoln 180 dual

img0307oh.jpg

Here is my setup, mostly mastercraft maximum (canadian tire for those who don't know)

img0226zn.jpg

I lined all the drawers with 1/8" neoprene gasket material. Little expensive @ $1 per square, but 100% worth it. You could go thinner to keep cost down. Nothing moves on this stuff and it won't ball up like other drawer liners I've seen. I cannot recommend this stuff enough, it is by far the best liner.
