The crafstman box got some new paint on the outside to cover the dingy grey that it once was. The black drawers in the pics came from old drafting tables great for storage it would be nice if they were a little deeper though.

You have a good eye!

This was the display model I looked at a few times, it's these welds that make me nervous. they look like they'd crack under weight/stress.

Looks like they tacked it up for you and they intended for you to finish the job.

99% of all the tools shown, were just bought used, this summer at estate sales etc. shortly after discovering Jeff's "It's Garage Sale Season" thread! Haha! :lol_hitti

View media item 26332

I am a sucker for metal case tool sets. Mind sharing what is in the metal boxes? Looks like some SK stuff?

BTW, did you go to every single garage sale this past summer?:D That is quite the collection for just one summer of garage sale-ing.
Most of the garage sales I seem to go to may have one or two good quality hand tools in the entire sale.

O yea YOU **** on that $55 box.

those spanner racks are awesome! never seen ones like that before

They are really nice (and surprisingly inexpensive) but they only do two sizes -these ones with 30 slots and another size with 18 wider slots for larger spanners.

What you see in the photo there is about the largest spanner I could fit in those slots (I forget what size it was, but not that big in any case). I'll probably order the 18-slot version to try, but that's not many spanners relative to the size of the drawer. I think they need to make a version that's either in between, or has incrementally larger slots along the length.

Aside from that, they fit in the drawer-divider slots and are folded over at the bottom and pre-drilled so they can be solidly attached through the perforated drawer bottoms.

I believe it's just the American ones that are. Lista is a Swiss company with offices/plants in America also. I've heard the US also has some variation in the product catalogue (probably to suit American preferences).

This one was shipped directly from Lista in Switzerland. It's even on the shipping bill.
Ah, OK - Thanks for the info

Had this cart for a little while and my one big complaint was that it was terrible about going over any decent sized crack or rolling outside onto the gravel (happens alot at my shop) so i bought these off harbor freight and for the money they will be ok i think.

Bought this tool cart for 40 bucks. Did i need another one? No probably not but for 40 bucks how could you not get it?

I have the same 13 drawer Matco as you. Mine is on page 244 #4878. I've changed mine around quite a bit since then. I love the box as they are built really well and the newer boxes are not built quite as soild regardless of tool truck manfacturer. Mines in the basement as I'm a DIY. Nice seeing another older box still being used.

Figured I should post it here finally. These were taken over the summer. A bunch has been added since then including more knipex, grip on, wiss, finishing out the 1/2 in sockets, some koken and a bunch of gray canada. This is my main auto box full of the "good" tools. Ive got my grandpas craftsman for the household stuff and vintage things and a bench top for random stuff like scrapers and snips. Theres also a 1/2 makita impact and drill hanging off the side of it

I like that Sealey box... nice and compact. What do you use for pliers and screwdrivers?

I found out it's the same as the Kobalt boxes sold in the USA. Screwdrivers are mostly from Halfords and Screwfix but I've just bought a set of Wiha Microfinish ones. Pliers were mostly old junk of unknown origin and some really cheap Draper ones. I've bought a couple of Knipex, a cheap Sealey and I got a Facom waterpump plier as a gift.

I've been too busy using my tools to photograph them lol. I've also now bought a Beta roll cab so I've got loads of empty drawers to fill. There's three deliveries of tools coming this week so that should help. Pity my poor wallet!

Sorta feel like I'm posting pics of a '93 civic after someone posted their ferrari pics following that Matco box, but here is my weekend tinker toolbox. I keep my saws and such stored seperately.

Standard Craftsman ball bearing box. I need another one as I have a box or two of tools that I can't fit in here.

Nice looking box you have Mr. Ratchet. My box has served me well and for what I paid for it I can't complain. Its previous owner was pretty rough on it though. I'm gonna be upgrading to a bigger SO box though which I will post pictures of and this one will be up for sale soon. How much you pay for yours?

I think a I paid $600.00 for it off a Snap On truck. I'm pretty sure it came from a diesel shop. Then I sold my CM set I had for $200.00 or $250.00, so I only have around $400.00 into mine.

Thats a Matco lithium one, the battery was on the charger in the pic.

@dieselman Very nice Matco box Love the trim.

Thanks all. it was a very hard decision, my favorite color is blue, and wanted a blue box with blue trim, but ended up going with this, its so hard to choose looking at a picture on a computer screen, ive seen black with blue trim and that is awesome too!!
