Thanks bud everyone at work thought I was crazy getting a white box as a diesel mechanic but I clean my box daily and does jot get as dirty as u think. Also I was suprised the handles came in anodized not powdercoated

Wonder how anodizing compares to powdercoating durability wise.

 very nice.

I'm still waiting for my stuff............

I might have seen your box today lol. 18 wheeler was stuffed with Epiq's and lockers. I wish I could have bribed the driver to make a "stop" by my house ;)

From what the driver told me, I am the first person to buy the end cab for an Epiq. He didn't even know they made them and nobody had ever seen one.

I just got one of those 722's also. Same trim. There is a thread titled "Just sold my box" about 2 weeks ago. I have a few pics of it there.

That epiq is epic. Nice

Man that is too nice! :shocking:

Thanks guys :) Wish I had some better pictures, but there is a jeep with a missing cylinder head parked in front of it right now.

This setup probably cost more than Jack's entire garage, maybe even including the Porsche.

Lol it wasn't that bad. I have a fantastic dealer and while the retail price is high, I didn't pay anywhere near that.

My "new" box. I had them separated, the top was on a bench and the bottom i was using a storage and a worktop. I was gonna sell them, but now seeing them together, I'm not so sure. I'll have to see how much fits. The top is 8 drawers 52Wx16Dx20H deep, the bottom is 9drawers 53Wx18Dx39H.

at 9.50 an hour for 32 hours a husband, father, and college kid can only afford so much. thank god for harbor freight. as much as id like to spend more on my tool box than what my entire life is worth, im fine with my 3 boxes and several small ones. sure id adore a 30,000 dollar snap on wall unit, but my house and cars combined wouldnt cover the cost. so here they are, in all their working man's glory:

old waterloo box with custom mods, paint, and stack on top box:

photo0030d.jpg

it was my first 'real' tool box. i got the bottom 2 sections from a garage sale for 60 bucks, took it home, cleaned it up, built the doors for the bottom and did countless other mods to it in the last 6 years. ill never sell it. i plan to restore it to its original glory someday.

craftsman box that my father in law gifted me for fathers day about 2 years ago:

this is my home box. it came loaded down with tools, but no keys, so it stays at home.

the over-modified HF US General tool cart with 7 drawer side cabinet attached:

this is the one i spend the most time with, so it gets the most TLC. it makes me my 9.50 an hour lol. absolutely love the quality of this thing. its going on 2 years, and aside from my own personal mods, i havent had to replace or repair anything on it. sure it's no name brand box, it didnt cost as much either. :)

Kool, I actually like that idea. I was looking at those and thinking of how to make that work. I thought it would tip the cart over.
As far as wanting a H-U-G-E SO box, well as nice as it would be, in many of our cases here, it's just not affordable or practical. You have a nice set up, and it's making you money. That's what counts. BTW-that old Waterloo is way cool.

May I suggest that, when you have time, you put a red sheet metal skirt around the 7-drawer to hide the wood? Line it up with the bottom of the cart. It would make it look 100x better. Just my honest suggestion.

im thinking that too, but first i want something far superior to the wood under there, but finding a 4.5" chunk of anything is pretty difficult. those are stacked 2x6s. i posted the whole mod in the HF tool cart thread :

oh believe me if i didnt go with those casters it would have. that side cab is 100 lbs on its own, the cart is only around 150. give or take.

yeah i didnt even know it was waterloo till i got to cleanin the badges on the lower box. ive never seen another one like it.

Yep, they knew how to make stuff back then. How about painting the wood red? be easier than fabricating something?

thought about that too, but even painted wood in a shop setting gets dingy and nasty. i want to go with some sort of steel stand offs, then do the sheet metal. right now the problem is time. im a full time student on top of the 32 hour work week. a man's gotta sleep!:dunno:

Side box on the cart, awesome idea! Just leave the wood. Be proud of what u do, not what u have.

im also thinking of upgrading the bolts i used when i upgrade to some sort of steel riser in place of the wood. i used 1/4-20 with the wood, i think im going to up it to something in the 5/16 range for the steel, make it a bit more rugged and feel tougher. ive noticed it feels a bit like the wood flexes when i move it, hoping the steel solves that.

I wish that first picture wasn't so "cluttered". I was excited about getting it so I snapped a pic. We are super busy so stuff just got put where ever. Heck, the lockers aren't even bolted to the box yet and still have the small transport wheels. Going in early tomorrow to get them squared away. Here is a bit "cleaner" pic (though still a bit cluttered) I snapped with the led light installed. Sadly, I can't go higher because the motion detectors in the shop won't be able to see over top of it :(

That Snap-On stuff is pure ****! Mine are not quite so exotic and there's way too much junk packed in there for a good photo. I'm a little bit obsessed with the label maker.

Could not help myself, had to add side cabs. Left side came in Thursday and hoping for right cab next week. This meant moving the man cave area around the corner to the middle section of the cave to make room for the new additions. I am also thinking of sandwiching a 84 inch Epiq and hutch to right side of Mr Big to balance things out.

Is that a 15 or 17 inch laptop? I may upgrade my 68 to an 84 but I cant see **** on a 15 inch screen.
