posted this in another thread and then realized i've never shared in this thread. all my tool boxes are courtesy of Costco, or Craigslist from someone who bought one from Costco. From left to right, CSPS copy of the Hammerhead, Hammerhead box, and then the Whalen Storage workbench/cabinet.

Honestly, I think this is real. It's probably is a Lista (or something similar). I can do this on my Lista since its per-drawer capacity is 440 lbs. You never mentioned what type of box it is, right?

Sorry, but my toolbox hasn't got an engine in it, and i cannot go down the highway with 65mph on it....

perhaps i have to re-think the entire purpose of a tool box.....

I got a spare v8 and automatic...... Haha. We have a mechanic at our shop who's drawers have literally collapsed. He just pulls one out, and sets it in the van floor when he's looking for a certain tool

He also sort of resembles the people in the smiley I used haha

I stand behind my picture. No bad camera angles or shadows. I set out to prove it could support me ONCE. A second time would likely mean failure and a new viral video starring me.

Besides, how many times is a box required to carry people in one drawer in its lifetime. I don't see any of these skeptics or "Photoshop Analysts" standing behind their boxes. Come on and step up...or in, I should say.

Love that white and chrome. For some reason i see pinstripes but I am the kind that can't leave well enough alone lol.

Pelican makes a similar box i used in the air force and it is really handy. Shadow board the drawers to prevent chaos. Pelicans version also has configurable drawer sizes. If it weren't for skydrol used in civilian aviation its the box id have for daily use tools. The kipper boxer were nice I've used those but the pelican toolbox was my favorite line tool box.

A shadow board would be nice. But right now, nothing beats the convince of grabbing a "holder" full of sockets. The box is awesome but my only complaint is that it always drives me nuts when I " roll" it away. I hate the sound of tools crashing.

lol I can hear it now. People get nervous when they hear a guy move his toolbox and hear them crashing about around airplanes ha so I foam everything.

Both are HF side boxes. I just moved all the big drawers to one side. They're all interchangeable.

Love that white and chrome. For some reason i see pinstripes but I am the kind that can't leave well enough alone lol.

They're not chrome, they're a textured silver actually. Not many people like the finish on the handles, including me which is why I'm stripping them and powderocating mine a flat/satin black. The white subtle metallic finish is paint, not powder which I found rather interesting, it has some flake in it.

the weight of tools certainly adds up. you dont realize it when you only have one or two wrenches in your hands, but when you load all of it up in a cardboard box and try to lift it, you're reminded real quick that all those tools are heavy steel.

which is why when its time to lube your box's casters, using the lift is the only way to go.

i cant wait till someone else who seems to care more notices that the drawer is bowing down a little, and that it looks like he might be leaning some of his weight against the top of the box.

but either way it cant be argued that for around 1200 bucks, you can either make a payment on a snappy box, or you can own that entire HF setup. both of which would hold a ton of tools, quite literally, and arent really designed to carry a 200 lb guy on top of 150 lbs of tools.

the physics of the tools being spread in the drawers helps, and the weight of the guy is localized on 2 points, so where the drawer carries the load is different. notice alot of the original guys doing this had their feet roughly shoulder width apart, toward the edges of the drawers, which would be the strongest parts.

gotta say thow, ballsy as hell to be up that high on any toolbox drawer.

on a side note, the guy with the blue point cart at my shop has lowered cars on it, spilled it out and knocked it down, sits on top of it, and has used it for a stool to the tops of the RV rack on numerous occasions. i wouldnt do any of that on purpose to my HF cart, but thats more because i have more respect for my gear than he does. im fairly certain it would bounce back from all but the lowering of cars on it.. but really, holding a guy in a drawer is a far cry from dropping a buick in one.
