Well shut me right up . That is truly impressive. Wait a second, this is the guy with the Matco salesman dad. All the slides bent and the drawers have been replaced under warranty as I write this JK . That's probably over 350 lbs on the left. Snap-On better watch out. They're loosing market share like crazy. I always see Matco, Mac, etc at the car shows but never Snap-On. Now they have the Chinese nipping into their market.

I don't really get it. I have no need to stand on my toolbox drawers, and i doubt any of the drawers hold 147lb-worth of tools, so they don't need to be able to support my weight.

I wasn't trying to compare it to a Snap On box... That photo is old and taken from thread of mine. The HF box is a great box for the $. I am selling my HF box when it's replacement comes in, I think it's resale value will be pretty good.

from this HF owner's perspective, its the huge deficit in price vs the quality of the box. snappys are nice, but IN MY OPINION not worth literally 10 times more than a HF box of the same size.

i could rant on this all day, but ive seen what 1000 dollar snap on box looks like, my 60 dollar second hand garage sale special waterloo is bigger and holds more tools. matter of fact they sit next to each other at work, and that little snappy looks dinky by comparison.

to be clear, if i had the money and less conscience, and planned on staying in the industry as a career, i wouldnt mind owning the big boy snap on, mac, matco, cornwell, lista etc.

but i dont have the money, i have a conscience, i dont use credit cards, and god willing i'll earn my degree in a year or so and be out of the industry. then i can be content with my HF boxes and tools in my garage and that will be that. no more ******* contests, no more my ****'s bigger than yours games.

Here's my small box that I am rapidly out growing, troubble is I don't have space for anything much bigger

I'm not happy with the layout/organisation but its the only way I can fit everything in

The last pic is my new lock, I know it's not the right one for the box but who doesn't want a spanner for a key

Also, can anyone confirm this box is made by mac tools? I purchased it on a whim when I had outgrew my first box , I got it at a good price on eBay, brand new still with the clear film over the picture but with no keys ( hence the lock ) it came with mac tools papers and feels real good quality, only I haven't seen any proof on the box that it is genuine.

Foam is at almost every sears if you are willing to take the time to shadow. Snap on has nice socket rails fairly cheap surprisingly if you get the steel ones made in mexico. HF socket rails are cheap and good for laying down in a drawer to keep your sockets. you can pick up a 12 wrench organizer at kmart now cman branded but there are quite a few other options. use the search I'm fairly positive every google tool organization link i found helpful sent me here lol.

Check out Ernst manufacturing, love their wrench racks. Their socket holders aren't, but for my main sockets I like Hansen rails better. Depends if you want to pick up a socket set and take it with you. Hansen are no good for that.
